Tom Sawyer Paintbrushes

We are heading to WDW in April and would like to hit Tom Sawyers Island as soon as it opens. We have heard the "Hidden the paintbrushes" activity has been taken away. Is this true? Has anyone been there lately and found one or asked CM's if it has been discontinued? I did see a post from March 2012 that is was gone but rumored to come back.

Appears to be gone for good.

It was never reinstated after the BTMRR refurb was completed.

Just to confirm: we ask almost every time we go (once ever two months or so) and they always tell us they don't do it anymore.

Like most things, it was ruined by greedy people. We found one in June 2009 and got fast passes.
