Tom Sawyer Island open?

I know it is kind of silly for a 50 something yr old woman to love Tom Sawyer Island - but I do. Something about it is so nostalgic for me. Is it currently opened?

Our generation doesn't think that way sista. I'm 56 and still feel and think 18. And I will cry my first visit back and visit Tom Sawyer Island.

Late 40's here - it isn't a visit to Magic Kingdom if we can't enjoy our stroll around Tom Sawyer Island!

I'm in my late 30s and loved the barrel bridge and forest trails on my last trip.

Also, sitting on the porch rocking chairs and relaxing in the middle of a Magic Kingdom day = amazing!

Not silly at all! There are so many wonderful things to look forward to at WDW! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks Everyone. I love walking through those caves and just exploring. Makes me feel like a kid again.

Excellent!! The trip I'm taking in later this year, with a friend and her two kids, and our party includes a very active 6 year old. Play areas are strongly part of my plan to help mitigate the passing of time during the DAS return times. It will be his first trip, so I want to make sure it is fun for him while balancing his needs and his Mom and sister. This is excellent!!

Today we heard from a cast member that yesterday they began serving ice cream treats (Mickey bars included!) out on the island for the summer season. We weren’t able to verify and she wasn’t 100% certain, but it sounds promising!

I have it on good authority that Mickey Ice Cream bars were Mark Twain's favorite dessert. I cannot imagine a WDW vacation without a visit to what I affectionately call ... The Island.

I miss when Aunt Polly's Dockside Diner was always part of the TSI "experience".

Also miss the Paintbrush Hunt-such a cute activity.
