I know Tom has carried out some odd behaviour in the last year. But scientology and eschewing drugs don't seem to be just cause for his dismissal from Paramount. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with his actions but isn't Paramount over-reacting to his behaviour?

he should have never walked on Opras couch, it was all down hill from there

If Cruise's actions have hurt box office sales and his fan-base/popularity have declined, why would you keep him on!? If your actions hurt your company wouldn't they fire you?

Tom Cruise has come off as nothing but a nut-case as of late.

Ain't that right! :thumbsup2
I was waiting for you to pop in here, Oprah! You go, girl!

BTW -- has your couch recovered from that event?!

I certainly have no desire to see any of his movies. It's about time someone had the cajones to stand up to this wackjob.

I thought MI3 was really good, but I still would have let him go. He's flat out embarrassing. :sad2:

::yes:: I agree. The Brooke Shields cut was the end of it for me. What a jerk. And where's that baby of his? On the space ship with Ron?

I think it is waaay more than Scientology and being against drugs. The man has lost his MIND. He is a freak. I am just glad he is not as pwerful as he believes he is, and a movie studio CAN do this to him. What he is doing to Katie Holmes is criminal.

Check out this inteview with Ving Rhames. TOM CRUISE IS A FREAK. (IMO)

Chemistry is important

“I think the reason Luther has survived through the series is because of my friendship off-screen with Tom,” Rhames says. “We first met before the premiere of Pulp Fiction. I was in the bathroom taking a leak and he came up to me and asked me if I was in the film. I told him to watch it and tell me what he thought. After the screening, he came up and gave me a big hug. Soon after, I got the script for the first Mission. I jokingly said, ‘Okay, the black man dies in the first ten pages.’ To his credit, Tom made sure that didn’t happen, and for action films these days, that’s rare.”

It’s not all explosions “M:I: III is a full throttle action ride but it’s also the most character driven film in the series,” Rhames says. “You get to learn about Ethan Hunt’s personal life and since I’m the only actor aside from Tom Cruise that’s been in all three Missions, they beefed up my role. You’ll see more of the bond between Luther and Ethan, but don’t worry—it’s definitely not a buddy film.”

Luther gets to play “This time, I’m not just behind the computer,” Rhames says. “Director JJ Abrams said, ‘If you have Ving Rhames, you have to use him.’ So, I’ll be handling some cool CIA equipment, like a $250,000 device that fits in my pocket. I also trained with explosives for a sequence involving computer-controlled weapons. Now Luther’s a black man with a gun. Buckle your seatbelts.”

Mission: Impossible: III hits theaters May 5.

I saw an MI3 interview on TV, and Ving went further, he actually SAID that Tom ran and JUMPED into his arms after seeing him in Pulp Fiction. Now, you may want to know it was after the Oprah couch jumping, so Ving could of been poking fun. But he still says Tom barely knew him and gave him a big hug.

Is this appropriate behavior towards a man you barely know? Seems rather odd to me regardless of whether it's Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks or Tommy Lee Jones!
