Highway 528 has tolls, there are options. You can put the two in google maps and it will show you the routes with and without tolls.

The quickest/easiest route has tolls. I think there are ways to avoid tolls, but it has been years since I have even thought about that option. Based on current gas prices vs tolls, I would just pay the tolls. It would be a break even prospect at worst.

Do you have a toll pass for your state? We have Ohio EZ Pass and bring our transponder along and use the south airport exit to 417 and off at exit 6 (end of current ezpass acceptance) and its really convenient. We have also used the visitor toll pass program but it is currently not available.

There are toll exits near airport (where off airport car rental companies are) that are not manned. They only take quarters. Florida toll booths don’t take paper money and return change or credit cards. In a rental car, without paying them a $10 daily fee that covers all tolls, the fee for not paying at the toll booth is around $40, paid to the car rental company.

Warning - airport security HATES roles of coins in your carry on luggage. My experience was not pleasant. And I would expect them to tear open your checked luggage based on my carry on experience also. The dense metal looks like the parts of many weapons.
