Hi all :-)

As we go next Tuesday I was wondering if anyone could tell me the cost of the tolls and which roads they are on?

Huge thanks in advance

Excited

If you are going from Calais, tolls are €21 each way. can't remember what roads they are on

We travelled from Channel tunnel and it was 21.40 each way. Can't remember which road but you collect your ticket and then it was a long way before we had to pay!

Just back today and they're definitely 21.40 each way. I thought they were 21 and didn't have the 0.40 on me on the way there so had to pay by debit card ooops!

Thanks again we are getting the first train on Tuesday morning 6:20 and then driving straight to SL and have some ¬ put aside - is it quite a straight forward drive - 1st time we've driven in France?! :-)

This was our first time too and it was much easier than I expected. Just beware for the ridiculously huge potholes!

Ooo that nice to hear that it was easier than you expected - did you manage to do it in one go? We have our 3 and a half DD with us so thinking we may have to stop half way. And ahhh pot holes I shall def remember that!

We had DS who is 6 and DD is 13 months and we did it all in one go. We were at Disney for 9am (3am ferry) the roads were busy'ish getting there but empty today travelling home.

Some potholes were metres wide :-O

Oooff that's a crazy size :-o, fab we shall aim to do it in one go. (Toilet requests pending lol) - did you use a sat nav at all?

We used a sat nav and it was a nice easy drive. Printed out route also just in case. We stopped every hour just for 5 mins to let kids get the sillies out and it took us 3 hours from tunnel to hotel. Pot holes were huge!!

I'd've got my sat nav in my phone and been trying to print out a route but aa won't find disney and others seem a but more confusing - have a road map just in case too lol. We start our journey in a few hours down to Folkestone then on to Disney 1st thing tomorrow - just check my lists for the millionth time :-)

I know the state of the roads once you turn off near CdG has always been dire but are those of you who have been recently saying that the toll stretches are awful too now? We will be travelling that way on Wednesday so it would be useful to know. Good to know about that extra 40c too, thanks, I will make sure I have it ready now. :thumbsup2

There are 2 ways you can go: A26-A1 or A16.

Most people take the A1 route and it's a very easy drive. It can get a little confusing near CDG airport but if you have a satnav it's no problem.

Last time I went, I took the A16 and whilst it was slightly slower than the A1, it was a nice drive with a lot more to look at. There aren't as many service stations though.

Thank you everyone - we have an early start tomorrow 5:30 at the tunnel :-o - good job we're only a mile away at the premier inn :-). We will be taking the a1 route had a check tonight and there are huge stretches of 60 odd and 90 odd miles on the same road - please could anyone tell me the speed limits?

Their motorways aren't like ours, the speed limit changes.

It's always well signposted, just keep in mind it's shown in KPH not MPH!!!
