Toll help please!

Hoping someone can help. We are at WDW now (just had great day at epcot), but 2 nights ago we drove through a toll, did NOT have any coins on us, and dont have the sun pass. So we got flashed, and want to know what to do now. We have rented a car from Dollar. We have rung them several times, and no-one seems to know what we should do, it is always 'another departments' problem :s
Was hoping someone on the DIS boards would be able to help...?

I know you can mail in the toll to avoid any fees etc. have you tried to contact someone from the Florida highway dept?

I would call the highway Department. I looked up the FL highway Dept. for you and here is the website that I found. http://www.floridasturnpike.com/tools_tollviolations.cfm
I am in the process of renting a car for my trip next month and two of the websites that I looked at said they charge $15.00 fee plus the toll and the late fees if you jumped a toll. there is a camera at each toll that will take a photo of the car license plate and FL will send the bill to the owner of the car.
If you don't take care of it you might be sent a ridiculous bill from the rental car company.
I suggest you send the toll amount using a check or money order with a note including the license plate of the car you are renting and keep all the documentation so that when and if the rental car company tries to collect from you you can produce proof that you paid.
the site says to contact the rental company, which you should do but if it were me I would send in the amount directly because the rental car companies will nickel and dime you (more like $50.00's and $100.00's)

See here. Dollar has a $15 fee, plus the toll for your situation. I'm guessing they'll charge your credit card after your rental.

ETA: take a look at your rental contract...from the wording on the sun pass website it looks like the details of how they handle this should be on there where you declined their toll by plate service.

DH's GPS put him on a toll road and he had no change. He noticed envelopes right there for such a circumstance. We put a check in the mail within the week, it was cashed, and we never heard a word about it from National.
