I don't think he's taking me seriously!!! I let him know that I was planning on going to DW with my sister all by myself. I'm not sure if he's taking me too seriously right now, I've been a little sick and the night I said it I had just had a really bad day. Litlle does he know but I am totally serious!!! I can't wait to get to DIS CON !!!

:bounce: Can't wait to meet you Nancy! :bounce:

And about your DH....they never take us seriously until you show them the credit card bill. ;) :D :p LOL

Too true about the credit card bill!!! Now I just have to convince the kids that I'm not desserting them AND i have to arrange for the 2 Grandsmas to help look after them while I'm gone. I know MY Mom doesn't think I should go, but my MIL will think it's a good idea.

Welcome, Nancy!
There were a lot of mothers that are DISers that came without their family to DIS-CON-I.
Just ask them.

Ray :)

I know there were a lot of solo Moms, I don't have a problem leaving my kids...in fact I can't wait! My Mom has a problem with me leaving my kids! If I brought the girls I just wouldn't be able to have a good time. OOPS!!! That didn't sound too good! I would still have a good time but wouldn't be able to enjoy the nightlife. So I need to get Barb to talk to our mom and convince her I need a vacation by myself. My DH already knows I need one bad!

I don't know, Nancy, I don't know how much my talking to mom will do. I'll give it a shot, though. There's no doubt we'd have fun if the girls came along, but there are times when they can't come along and it wouldn't be fun for them to be left behind. It is a lot easier to go solo. They'll just have to understand that. Good luck with the plans. :D

I keep going back and forth on making it a family trip or going solo. I'm really leaning towards solo. I don't think I'd even be able to get Amanda on a plane so she would refuse to go. If George was there I'd feel like I had to spend all my time with the family. PLUS it would cost a lot more!!! If my Mom won't help with the girls while I'm gone I know my MIL would. She'd would probably take vacation time to watch them.

Nancy, definately solo! You will not have time to play with the family during DisCon and you will guilty every time you try to do a solo DisCon event. The best comparison is it is like bringing a spouse to a class reunion when he didn't go to the same high school.. You spend the whole time trying to make sure he is having a good time while you do not get to let your hair down with your high school friends. Park the guilt at the airport and if you feel the need, pick it up on the way home. (Better yet, lost it on the baggage carousel!!):bounce:

I have to say here I brought my husband to DisCon..I was never sorry.. he was awesome and had a great time and so did I... Now if you choose not to bring him.. that is your choice and hopefully you will not feel guilt over it..

We did have fun Marsha! But you might want to have him remove his Tiara before he goes to the men's room...hahaha!

Well it's official...I'm definately coming to DIS-CON2! I am so excited! MIL agreed to help with the girls and DH doesn't want to come along...he knows that he wouldn't want to do everything I would and then I'd feel like I had to stay with him. Now I have to keep my eye out for cheap airfare! I can hardly wait!!!
