I cant believe some people getting so upset over this issue.
I was going to book this for my DD8 but after reading this thread and talking it over with DD8 and DD13 we have decided all three of us are having it done for my 40th birthday party......so if you see two beautiful princess with a very uncute 40 year old(think I will give the blue eye shadow a miss !) having dinner at 1900 pf on October 6th ,look beyond the make up and you will see a mum having a blast sharing a wonderful special day with her girls because she spent months before hand planning everything and booking everything so those two beautiful girls had a fantastic day sharing an fun experience with their mum.
If people want their kids to have the best possible time they should do their research...find when and where to stand for the parades, where to eat, what needs booking etc just like we did.

Come on, this is WDW! Full grown adults walk around with giant birthday cake hats on their heads! This is the one place you can get away with looking silly in public, so absolutely go for it. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because of the price. Also, I think I'd be just a little too embarrassed to go alone, but if I had a friend go with me, you better believe I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've seen a table of 4 adults at CRT who had all gone to the botique, and they were having a blast.

I'm sorry, but I really dislike the attitude that once you reach a certain age, you are no longer allowed to enjoy the same things without being looked down on.

I totally agree :thumbsup2

Sorry, I think you're a bit over the top on this. You can be an adult and not have a care in the world. You can be an adult and have a good time. You don't have to run around pretending you're six years old in pigtails.

Would I go to BBB probably not, its not my thing but that is part of being adult is to know that my opinion only counts for me, someone else has thr right to disagree so if someone else wants to go to BBB enjoy yourself. Or can we say that if they make BBB child only then as adults we should have at least one resteraunt that bans children!

I'm not being mean, I'm just telling people to get over yourselves. I didn't visit WDW until I was a teenager and then not again until college, but I don't feel the need to cut in front of people to watch parades, do character meals without my kids, pose with Mickey mouse and have a makeover at BBB.

I'm just saying YOU ARE NOT a kid anymore, deal with it. You missed out on WDW as a small child as alot of us did, get over it.

Actually when I see adults without kids at character meals or watching parades or sometimes even posing with characters, I raise an eyebrow but then think OK this may be their only trip and they do want to experience what they never did.

But to get gaudy hair extensions and glitter make-up sorry I'm sticking with it, to me for an adult unless its a mother and daughter thing its just plain weird.
I disagree with pretty much all of that. We go to character meals, pose with characters and watch parades and we are 28 with no kids....why are only people with kids allowed to enjoy these things :sad2: ...and why do I pay the same as people with kids who get to enjoy these things...I guess I should just stay home if I don't have kids. :sad2: :confused3

Have a great time!! :goodvibes
Try to remember to post pics of the experience :) (blue eyeshadow or not)

I have read through this entire post for a couple of days now and have refrained from adding to the "discussion." Some have stated their opinions eloquently while others have offered insults and justified it by saying this is just my opinion. The intent was to ascertain if this was something that COULD be done, not if it SHOULD be done. No matter how you feel about the experience, it is up to us as idividuals to decide what it is that we SHOULD do with our time and money. What we SHOULD do is a very subjective matter that can lead to isnsulting people very quickly. There is a reason your mother told you "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."

:grouphug:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sounds fair :thumbsup2

Absolutely. If people have a problem with it just DON"T do it. There is no need to insult others because of what they like to spend their money on, whether you agree with it or not. Just seems to be a lot of ridiculing and bullying going on.

Woah wait, so now adults can't enjoy characters or character meals by themselves? Excuse the hell out of me for not popping out a sprog so that I can get your approval!!

My fiance and I will continue to enjoy our character meals, getting their autographs, wearing our ears, riding Dumbo and the tea cups, and everything else that many people concider "for kids only". I'm so sorry that you're so grown up that you can't enjoy those things without your kids. In the meantime... we will!

Exactly :) ..I couldn't agree more.

Me too! And that is from a 40yr old mouseketeer that just took her 65 yr old dad to Disney, and had a great time with Pooh and his friends at the Crystal Palace. It is sad that so many people get caught up in acting their age and "Disney is only for kids" that they forget how to enjoy themselves.

I think we all could learn a thing or two from a really old couple that I saw on my families last trip to WDW.

We were lining up for the tram to take us to the parking lot, when we saw an old man and women who looked to be in the 80's, one in a scooter and one with a cane strolling up in line.

They both had mouse ears on and had shirts on that said " I will never grow up."

:goodvibes

I wish I had my camera!

As a mother of 2 little girls, I tried to express that I hoped BBB wouldn't be overrun by adults trying to be kids again. I want the experience to be magical for them and not to feel like they're there in an adult's salon getting their hair put up, but rather in a salon made primarily just for them. We all know $$ talks, so whoever pays gets to play.

I think it will be a LONG time before it becomes "overrun with adults". If there's an adult in there, just tell your little girls that they want to be a princess too. If I was a little girl I would have felt special and grown up that I could share that experience but maybe I was just more mature than most? :confused3

a. No one seems to be upset around here except for the people who think it is some kind of right to get made up in a kiddie salon. The rest of us are just giving our opinion on things. (Oh, by the way, I can justify my statement by saying they are my opinion).

b. Good. That's fine. You're going in with your daughters to have silly mother/daughter time. You get it. We're not talking about that kind of situation.

I disagree. The people who upset are the ones who are being insulted. I get it already what your opinion is. It is the way in which you and others state your opinions which is demeaning and belittling to others, and there is no justifing that, IMO, of course;)

Somebody mentioned the women look like dragqueens. I can see how that would be offensive. But I'm sure that was just her opinion.

Aaaah, see, you're taking an internet discussion far too personally.
