Tokyo Disney on 2 Weeks’ Notice: Hightower Halloween Costume!

Just catching up again! I am loving all the pictures, in the rain did you cover the camera at all?

I want to live in that Little Mermaid area - but how could you eat seafood under the sea

Nice popcorn bucket :goodvibes Every time I read this thread at home DH seems to always say - ohh where's that? I think we may go there in the next few years :lovestruc

Why couldn't they have built a Paris Disney Sea :confused3

I think if I ever get to Tokyo Disney, I will need to bring clothes I can throw away so I have room in my luggage for loot. I would feel compelled to buy that Marie popcorn bucket too and I would never use it again either. :thumbsup2

Caaarrrrrie! I don't have enough time right now to look at the rest of day 9 or comment on the first part, but I had to THANK YOU!!:worship::worship: I showed Jim a boatload of your pics from TDL and TDS and he is ready to jump a flight to Japan! I think your TR may've jumped Tokyo up to #1 on his list! :woohoo::woohoo: All the better for me! ;) I'll try to read the rest tonight....sorry everyone...back to your regularly scheduled TR.

Great update! I am excited for the next because the Ambassador is my favorite looking of all the hotels. I am a sucker for art deco. Are there character M&G in Disney Sea?

Duffy photo spots? Good god.

What totally ordinary thing should I export to Japan so it can become a phenomenon :scratchin

I think the awesomeness of DisneySea theming kind of warped your senses because that Little Mermaid counter service place looked pretty slick to me. The columns, the seashell chairs, the fish on the ceiling...

I mean, compared to some Disney World places...just off the top of my head; Peco Bills, whatever the Pinocchio counter service is called...that place looks pretty awesome. And everything has seemed so clean!

As usual, great update. I am so jealous. Did you get pictures of the pool the next day or should I just google to see?

Ok...that under the sea area..i would have spent a good portion of a day in there..AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I can only hope that this "fantasyland expansion" at Disney World is going to be 1/2 as amazing in the theming department. The cave of wonders was awesome

I'm with you! They have a wonderful opportunity to do something great with Fantasyland... let's hope they don't screw it up! :lmao:

And more butterflies were born while Kim read/looked at the Lurkyloo trip report........:lmao:

again.....wow wow wow:cool1:

:rotfl2:

Lets see, what can I say about this TR that hasn't already been said. How about it's supercalafragalisticexpealadocious:lmao:

I like it! I like it!

No, we prolly should have though. You can see water spots in some of the pix!

Yes, we made quite a few jokes about the irony in THAT situation... none of which I can remember now!

:rotfl: Seriously! I'm actually thinking of launching a contest to see who can come up with a second use for my Marie popcorn bucket so I feel a little less silly about buying it!

Hooray! I'm always glad to hear of another convert—the more of us who go and bring back photos and tales, the more people we can convince to go see it! :thumbsup2

Great update! I am excited for the next because the Ambassador is my favorite looking of all the hotels. I am a sucker for art deco. Are there character M&G in Disney Sea?

Yes! But they are more like a mob than a queue. The characters stand there or walk slowly thru the area and people surround them and look for a chance to jump in and get a photo. The cool thing is, they have all kinds rare and unusual characters, which you'll see in future installments—like the crazy chef from Little Mermaid!

Good point! I do think that after a while we got so immune to the amazing theming that we got kinda picky about it! :rotfl:

As usual, great update. I am so jealous. Did you get pictures of the pool the next day or should I just google to see?

We did! More pictures than you'll ever want to see.... (but don't worry—no pictures of us in bathing suits!) :lmao:

Great conclusion to day 9! I totally would've bought that popcorn bucket too. Too bad there wasn't *tons* to do in the Arabian coast because it naturally would be a fav for you...look where you were married! :cutie: I get what you're saying about Sebastian's Kitchen...however it's still so much more detailed than quite a few of WDW's counter service locations. I can't wait to see the Ambassador either! Hope you have a happy 4th! :goodvibes

I'm totally hooked on this report (just like all of your other reports)

Those popcorn buckets are driving me NUTS. It's 8 AM, I REALLY want some popcorn now! I wish stinking wdw had them.

ToT's building looks really neat!

ohhhh Chocolate popcorn in a Tink bucket. I would have gotten that!

The Little Mermaid area looks amazing!! I want to go! :)

The seating area by the windows is so beautiful. I wish I was there reading a good book :)

I have to know what camera are you using for your trip report pictures.

Carrie, this report is simply amazing.

I can never thank you enough for the detailing of the pictures and the information that helps us understand how things are done there. As someone who has a significant other with Cerebral Palsy in a power wheelchair, we will never be able to take a trip to Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Seas. It is impossible, his body wouldn't allow it so we are living through you and Patrick.

We are in awe of everything and laugh at your sense of humor, you are both hilarious. Thank you for posting this TR.

Boy, I am finally caught up! What a wonderful report. I think that I need to start saving my pennies for a trip to Japan. You should write a book with all of the pictures that you took and I am sure we would all buy it!

First, Triton's Kingdom looks awesome! The Little Mermaid is one of my favorites so the attention to detail in that place was amazing! The picture of Patrick posing with Prince Eric was hilarious! I wish my husband would be willing to do pose for a picture like that!

I need to go to Japan just to eat all of the seafood that I want. I would be in seafood heaven. The food pics are making me hungry! I still love all of the food displays, at least you know what you are getting.

Also, the painted murals around the park are beautiful. I am glad that you were able to capture their essence. I can't wait to read about paying for the use of a pool, that is just weird. But I am looking forward to the pictures.

Hee hee! I know—and with the refills and the different flavors and everything, I'll bet sales would go thru the roof!

Me too! I love seeking out perfect spots to read a book...

I have to know what camera are you using for your trip report pictures.

We use a Sony HX1. It's kind of a glorified point-and-shoot tricked out to look like a DSLR with nifty features like sweep panorama and a low-light setting that captures so much!

 Thanks for your kind words! I'm so glad to know you're enjoying the report!

That would be fun! I'm actually really interested in doing something like this, maybe with the Roots to showcase Disney wedding photography. I just haven't found a printed layout that works as well as scrolling thru comments and photos on the DIS! :teeth:

Hmmm... have you tried getting him drunk...? :cutie: (kidding!) Also, yes! I totally love seafood too, and it was such a treat to find it widely (and cheaply) available!

I'm sorry to say I won't be able to update this until next week. I sent my computer in to get a hard drive upgrade but UPS delayed it, so I won't have it back til the end of the week—grrrrrr!

In the meantime, I've been sneaking online whenever DH steps away from his computer—don't tell! :teeth:

Oh no! We won't tell Patrick about your sneaking around :)

I can understand why your computer needed an upgrade. Just look at this TR.:rotfl2:

I will look forward to the next exciting installment. It's helping me postpone all the prep I have to do for Comic-Con. A thousand thank yous!

Oooh! I hope you're getting a lot done. Did I read you guys are selling something glow-in-the-dark something this year...?

Today was probably Friday. We awoke to more noise on the lagoon this morning, but this time it was a full dress rehearsal (and filming) of the upcoming spring-themed lagoon show, which wasn't set to open until after we left Japan. Not realizing that the same show had been seen during last year's spring promotion and believing I was getting the inside scoop for MiceChat's Tokyo Disney forums, I dragged poor Patrick out of bed to shoot video and take photos.

This is what it looks like when you start filming 30 seconds waking up…

There is more footage, but I was talking over it, like a dang fool… how about a bazillion photos instead?

It was quite a spectacle, and I was impressed that they would go to so much trouble for a midday show lasting just three months and not replacing any other show! We think they must've been shooting it for a commercial too.

Check out the elaborate costumes! Tokyo DisneySea's upcoming promotion was called Spring Carnival, and the theme was color EVERYWHERE! I am kinda nutty about bright colors, so I totally would have worn any of these dresses.

These guys didn't get the color memo…
