Tokyo Dining in Epcot?

For the life of me I can not picture WHERE this restaurant is. We have been to Teppan Edo. Is this in the same building, over the shop? Anybody eaten there lately? I was just looking over the menu for Le Cellier and there really isn't anything there we are excited about, so I may cancel it. I could always replace it with counter service, but Tokyo Dining is intriguing me. We LOVE sushi, and the tempura sounds good, too. Thoughts? :confused3

It's the restaurant that used to be Tempura Kiko. They have great sushi and tempura, great steaks, and a much better view than Teppan Edo (they overlook the lake).

IMHO the only reason to chose Teppan Edo over Tokyo Dining is if the habachi is a deal-breaker for you.

Hmm. Don't know where Tempura Kiko was, either! :rotfl2:

We went to Teppan Edo once. We didn't love it, and DH and I were both still hungry when we left. The Tokyo Dining menu sounds really good.

I think the only reason I booked Le Cellier was to prove I could do it. But really, I didn't see any appetizers or desserts listed that I want to order, and the entrees are just sort of "eh". I know people rave about the cheese soup, but I don't like cheese or soup. :rolleyes1

I'm not a fan of le cellier in general, but maybe that's because if I'm paying that much I want a good steak :rotfl:

The cheese soup IS good, and I like the french dip they have at lunch, but in general I skip le cellier. If you want a real steakhouse, Yatchsman is WAY worth the money.

We love Yachtsman. I just e-mailed Ricardo the other day to let him know what night we will be there. If he isn't working I will change the ADR to a night he is there.

DH really liked the steak he had at Flying Fish, and the steaks at Coral Reef get good reviews, too.

We have been to Le Cellier 2 or 3 times. Not sure why I felt the need to go back there. I definitely think we'll switch to Tokyo Dining.

Ave you looked over the menu in Morocco? That is my favorite place to eat at Epcot!

wow a few years back we had adr's for this place at lunch and when we showed up no one was there:confused3 after about 15min which included walking thru the restaraunt and not one person being found we left. This was almost a scene out of the Kingdom Keepers series very bazaar . We've never tried again maybe we should.

I'd still like to try Le Cellier one time just to see what all the fuss is about (plus the menu doesn't look too bad). Every trip I eat at Chefs de France. I enjoy the food and really enjoy the cute waiters! Hopefully this year one of them will be my waiter. Seems we always get a waitress! :confused3 Morocco was good, I've ate there a couple times.

Wow, that is rather odd!

We like Marrakesh too. ::yes:: Their older menu had items that we preffered more than what is on this newer one, but it's still good for all that.

Not a huge fan of Le Cellier, and although we like cheese and soup, we don't like their sour tasting cheese soup.

YSH is the place for beef at WDW.

We used to like the Matsunoma Lounge at Japan... haven't tried the place since it underwent the huge change..

Eh, not so big on Moroccan food. DH likes the counter service place, but DS and I have a hard time finding anything there. My favorite CS in Epcot is Norway.

I need to cancel that Le Cellier and book Tokyo Dining today. Time's a wastin'!

There's the counter service off to the left up the hill... then the restaurant is above the gift shop, with a view out to the lagoon.

I love Le Cellier. I think Artist Point at WL is highly overlooked. I've never seen that place as busy as some of the other.

Moroccan food is still one of those cuisines I'm not always 100% sure of what it is I'm eating as far as the combination of herbs and spices is concerned. (I'm a "foodie", so this is an odd occurrence.)

I remember getting a lamb dish in Morocco at one of the F&W event carts while my friend went to the restroom. When he came out he saw that I had something, but was a bit scared of the fact that he had no idea what it was.....

Him: Where did you get that?
Me: The Morocco cart.......*chew chew*
Him: What is it?
Me: ..........*chew chew chew*............I'm not sure........*chew chew*.....Lamb.....something......*chew chew*. Would you like some?
Him: No.....I'm gonna get some fish and chips.
Me: Then leave us alone. *chew chew* We're enjoying each others company.....*chew chew*

Ordering the fish and chips was a big mistake on his part. I remember getting it at the Rose & Crown years ago and enjoying it.......but what my friend ordered was baaaaaaaad. The oil hadn't been changed in a long time, which gave the batter a nasty flavor and left an aftertaste that lingered. The batter was overcooked to the point of being rock-like, while the fish itself was undercooked.

I looked at my friend and said, "Boy.......that Moroccan dish was great." :rolleyes1

What's the lesson here, kids? Don't be afraid to try new things.:banana:

Thanks, Sandra. :) It's funny - I never noticed the CS until last year. We happened to be standing near it during a rainstorm.

DH and DS confirmed that Le Cellier can be counted as a "been there, done that" for us. I made an ADR for Tokyo Dining and canceled Le Cellier.

We've never been to Artist Point. I think we may have had plans to go there but ended up not going for whatever reason.

I've eaten there once.... and it was just so yummy. We also got seated by the window, which faces out to the pool/courtyard and Bay Lake. It does have a slight dress code, like no t-shirts or shorts (bermuda shorts are OK though), no flip flops/sandals... just more of a casual expensive kind of place. I'd love to go back, but just can't afford to on my own.

Kuzzina's is also very very yummy. I got to eat there last October, and found lots of things on the menu that sounded good (it tells you what the stuff is in english, which helps a lot). Apparently on Friday or Saturday nights, Cat comes for a bit of PR, and meets guests before they're seated. I ran out to meet Kari in the parking lot, so only my aunt and g'mother got to meet her, and disappointed Kari. Thankfully my aunt doesn't have cable and didn't know "who" Cat was...

Wally, you are SILLY! :goodvibes

"New things" as they apply to this thread are Tokyo Dining, The Wave, and bluezoo. That's actually a lot of new restaurants for us! I guess that's because our "been there, done that" list is expanding.

Trust me I had dessert in mind. :rolleyes1

I love Jiko - nothing tops it on WDW prop as far as I'm concerned

We ate there in 2006, and we haven't been back. The server was just rude and he kind of ruined Jiko for us. I did the "culinary tour" thing in 2008 and I thought maybe we would give it another shot, but they didn't have any availability the night we wanted to go. I think I had it on the schedule for this year but I ended up taking it back off. I think I was considering it for dinner after we go to Blizzard Beach, but I decided we probably wouldn't want to mess with it. And then of course my schedule got messed up when I moved US/IOA and I forgot to put the water park on there at all. I keep thinking I am finished tweaking the schedule, but then I keep finding more things to change.
