Okay, I have not heard much about this restaurant before but some friends wanted a sushi meal for lunch on Sunday (the 17th of May) and we decided to try Tokyo Dining. Let me just start by saying service was superb (although food was a bit slow coming out of the kitchen, the waitstaff was wonderful). Not everyone ate sushi and those of us who did thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry that I have no photos but I didn't have my camera with me so no food porn.
First my lunch. . .
I had the edamame for an appetizer - this one was a bit off. Normally in a Japanese restaurant they are served warm. . .these were cold. Tasty but cold. However there were plenty of edamame to satisfy most palates.
I had the sashimi sampler for an entree along with the salmon roe Nigiri. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty and perfectly prepared and the presentation was beautiful. The nigiri was perfection. I really enjoyed my meal.
A couple of people at the table had the sushi combo platter. Lots of great variety and they also said that their food was fresh and delicious. They liked it so much they kept ordering more (I should put a disclaimer here that the platter had more than enough food on it, these two were just REALLY BIG eaters).
Three at the table ordered the Tempura. They kept exclaiming how light and crispy the tempura was and how fresh the veggies were. The presentation was excellent.
The biggest surprise was one of our party ordered the New York Strip (not a fan of Japanese food). She exclaimed that her steak was so tender she was demonstrating cutting it with her fork.
There was a fair selection of sushi on the sushi menu - not as extensive as if at a sushi bar but still quite plenty. The excellent service and the wonderful meal means that I will be sure to go back again. If you like Japanese food this is an excellent place to give a try. I know I will be back.
