We got a very nice, white Ralph Lauren toilet seat cover at one of our bridal showers. It's not one of those fluffy, furry things that looks like a small animal is perched on your toilet. It's just looped white cotton threads.

My fiance says toilet seat covers are "tacky." He wants to take it back. I say they make the bathroom look nice. I want to keep it.

What do you say? Are they tacky?

I don't care for them. I don't think they're tacky, but they are just one more thing I am going to have to keep washing because my DH for some reason can never seem to "hit" the bowl, if you KWIM??? ;)

Not a fan...but that's just my opinion.
I like my toilets nekkid
heheh

Don't be sorry...I asked for honest opinions!

Hmmm...so far it looks like my fiance's right. Dang. I hate it when he's right!!! :rotfl:

Anyone else?

:rotfl2: Ditto. Just one more thing to have to wash, IMO.

I've heard it said that they just delay--for several crucial seconds--that a man has made a big mistake in the darkness of a nighttime bathroom trip.

:guilty:

I didn't even know they sold those things anymore! I vote with your BF in that they are tacky tacky tacky! They are also unsanitary. Yuck!

Sorry, but add me to the list that thinks they are tacky. I too prefer a nekkid toilet.

Wow! I had no idea!

My DF will be very pleased with this response... :rotfl:

Oh well, back to the store it goes...(and NO we haven't put it on the lid yet or taken the tags off.)

Well, here's one vote for you. :rotfl:

I prefer having them---it just seems like it quiets the room down, the more stuff you have in the space, especially in a small water closet. Otherwise the space echos too much for my taste! DH hates them, but it's not something he's willing to fight me on. :rotfl2:

Guess I am tacky and dirty :teeth:
Use them on all toilets...always have, always will.
They match the rugs (which are probably tacky and dirty too ;) ).
I think they add a "softer" feeling to a bathroom.....which is part of my home.

And yes they still sell them  Cute patterns, I even have a Santa one for the holiday time

I don't have cute patterns but definitely have all my potties covered too - I always feel like I'm living in an abandoned apartment until the potty seat cover goes on - besides - with two kids, one occasionally sits on the potty with the lid down to put hose or something on and I personally don't want a cold lid coming in contact with my "bum!"

Too much info - perhaps!

:rotfl:

I guess the potty cover users are just waking up - count me in! Our potty has a purple looped cotton cover - I like the color and think it makes the bathroom look more homey.

I almost wrote "a splash of color" but thought in a potty conversation that might be just wrong!

If you have a man in the house - a big thumbs down for toilet seat covers.

Kind of a "grandma" thing.

Are we talking about the same thing here? There are toilet seat ring covers and toilet lid covers. I thought the OP was talking about those nasty ring covers that went on the part where you actually sit down on. Those are the ones I can't believe they sell anymore. They were around when I was little and that was 35 years ago! They are beyond tacky. Now I see some posters describing what might be lid covers. They usually come in the set when you buy the two bathroom rugs. We use those in our powder room to give it sort of a finished look. Those are totally different then the actual ring covers. What one is the OP speaking of?

A "no" vote here. If I go into someone else's house that has one I don't want to touch it because I wonder how long it has been on there without being washed. They are a haven for yuck jerms! :crazy2:

Oh, sorry for not being clear. I meant the LID covers, the ones that match the rugs.

Not toilet seat covers! Ick!
