Toilet seat cover - yes or no?

We got a very nice, white Ralph Lauren toilet seat cover at one of our bridal showers. It's not one of those fluffy, furry things that looks like a small animal is perched on your toilet. It's just looped white cotton threads.

My fiance says toilet seat covers are "tacky." He wants to take it back. I say they make the bathroom look nice. I want to keep it.

What do you say? Are they tacky?

I like them - my b/f doesnt.

He takes it off one week, and hides it... I find it, put it back on and he doesnt notice for about a week....and then we start the cycle again.

He says theyre gross - and will get all nasty. I wash it before I put it back on... :teeth:

Oh, sorry for not being clear. I meant the LID covers, the ones that match the rugs.

Not toilet seat covers! Ick!

That's better. I honestly thought you were talking about those fuzzy type ring covers! In that case, we have the lid cover in the powder room. I have 3 of the same color so that I can toss them in the laundry every other day. I like the look of them. I got rid of the in the other two bathrooms because they are heavy use and I couldn't keep up with laundrying them all the time. I admit those bathrooms look naked without them!

tacky.... and depending on the thickness of the lid cover they sometimes make the lid "unstable" for a lack of a better word. I've seen them come crashing down. I can understand that your fiance would not want to be in the "line of fire" if you know what i mean!

If I go to someone's house that has one, I always use my foot to open the lid. I will not touch one of those things. It can be challenging sometimes. Thankfully, they aren't really in vogue around here anymore, so I rarely come across them.

personally..... I vote NO...

but then I have seen many friends that do have them.... their view :
use it as decoration...

for me.......... have never used them and do not plan on ever using them ..
(but that's just me !)

enjoy yours !!

My friend has a lid cover she puts on at Christmas that's really cute. It has a big Santa face on it that shows when the lid in down, then when you open it, the inside has the same face, but Santa has his hands up covering his eyes. Maybe a little tacky, but hey, it's Christmas! :teeth:

I don't have covers myself, but if I found one like that, I'd probaby buy it!

I do not care for them at all...but to each his own :)
