I was wondering if, since my husbands credit is better than mine, it would be better for him to purchase alone? I don't work so I really don't add anything to the situation. I just don't wanna "drag him down any"? What do you think?

I don't want to be the voice of doom and gloom and I hope your marriage lasts forever. BUT, since nothing is ever guaranteed in life I think both of your names should be on the contract.

If you finance through Disney and your credit ends up as a negative impact (it might not), you will probably have to come up with a larger downpayment and pay higher interest rates. Those are the only disadvantages that I can think of to purchasing as a couple.

A more important consideration might be whether you should be adding to your debt load to purchase a timeshare - that depends on your individual situation.

Best wishes -

Just remember that if he is the only name on it, than he'll have to make all the reservations and phone calls because DVC won't allow you too. I'm on both our contracts, I'm a SAHM so I add nothing to the financing end. But DH doesn't even know how to call Member services! ;) Unless you have some bad credit on your end, I wouldn't worry about it. DVC is really lenient on their credit approval. You might just ask your guide directly, but I really doubt it will be a problem.

If you are married you are probably already linked in the credit reporting systems. I have heard of folks trying to get CCs and stuff when thier spouse had bad credit and they couldn't since in most states it becomes joint responsibility.
