toddlers in line @ the parks - inspired by the short thread

Whenever we are standing in long lines at the park, I always carry DD (the past 2 trips she was 2 & 3 y/o), I just couldn't stand seeing her standing there at "heiny" level to all the adults. Anybody else do that?

I haven't taken my toddlers yet. So I have yet to experience that.

But this question reminds me of an experience I had when I was a little girl.

When I was 6 yo, my gm took my family to a convention in LA, California, What I remember most about this vacation, other than going to DL and Universal, was riding on the elevators in the hotel.
The elevators were always crowded and I was never happy with my view.

It's kind of funny....when DS was a toddler I used to think the same thing. I kept trying to pick him up, but he hates being confined in anyway so he would fight to be put back down. After a while, I just decided if the "view" didn't bother him, I wouldn't let it bother me! LOL (Although, I did keep a close eye on the people around him for cigarettes and sharp objects they held)

I guess I am just mean. I enjoy having my DS 2 get confused and grab the wrong set of legs looking for me. It is always an ice breaker with people. Then you have someone to talk to in the line. I use my son for my own entertainment. Do I need a support group?

I actually carry my DS in lines - he's two - I want him to be able to see what's going on and where we are going. I also think about the fanny issue, but he doesn't seem to mind when he's down there.

I used to do the same thing with my son, when he was at "heiny" level. Either my husband or I would hold him, for his sake and for the sake of the person who might not want a toddler head rubbing on their backside.
Also, toddlers/little kids have a way of being RIGHT behind someone when that person takes a step backwards. I can't tell you how many times my husband has stepped back and knocked over a child, made them cry, and then felt like dirt! It is very amusing when a child grabs the wrong set of legs, though! That always makes me smile.
