That mom just took her son.......

for a manicure and put green nail polish on him. :scared1: These moms are just flippin nuts!

we paint the little boys nails at school.. We let them wear prettys (pony tails) too. nothing wrong with that.

My 3 year old nephew gets his toenails painted green and black, in the design of dinosaur claws, but I have a feeling you don't mean anything like this. Those T&T mothers are over the top.

Nothing wrong with it in and by itself.

But you have to take it into the context of these wacko moms they portray on T&T

(and I know not all pageant moms are this wacko, it is just the wackier the better ratings)

Dinosaur claws = cute

green nail polish + eye liner + mascara + 5 year old with a domineering mom = certifiable.

I feel so sorry for that boy. He is never going to live down this show. Yikes!
This show is just a train week that we cannot turn away from.

Was the kid being forced to go? If not, I think the OP is quite homophobic and I'm kind of offended by that... what's wrong with painting a boy's nails? Any color. And heaven forbid he likes the color purple or pink...

Overall, I do feel these moms are nuts and insane but, if the mom is just getting the kid a manicure, I think of him as lucky. A child who is on that show should be thankful they're not getting tans and teeth whitening.

I want my nails like that! :thumbsup2

Heck, I didn't even want my dd's fingernails painted until she was like 10. And I know that is a very unreasonable feeling but I just don't like to see nail polish on little girls. The thought of it on little boys is even worse.

I'm thankful you don't teach at my kids' school---and please don't go near my son with anything called a "pretty"....:rotfl2:

My daughter used to paint my sons nails, here at our house with no cameras around. Now that he is 13 he would be really upset by it- and if it were on tv he would be mortified.

I'm no homophobe -but you have to think of your kids feelings in the future.

I don't really mind what color my son likes, but no one is painting my son's nails. Manicure, fine. Nail painting, nope. There is no reason for us to feminize young men and say that it is okay. I'm all about kids making their own choices to a certain extent, but at some point, a line has to be drawn between the sexes, and for me this is one of them.

I am sure OP is not a homophobe, and neither am I. For you to connect anti-gay with a cross gender practice that is not needed at that age, is absurd.

And to OP, I hate that show and will not watch it at all. I feel sorry for all of the kids on that show. They are missing out on the best part of their childhood due to overzealous parents who are trying to live vicariously through them IMO.

And since this one is going to the dumper real quick, I'll just say it now....

Well I could have my ds's nails painted - if I wanted to give DH a heart attack!

Seriously most of those mothers are nuts (IMHO) and this one seemed even more over the top.

It seems like these mothers all think THEY are Miss America. Apparently most of them never looked in a mirror!

I didn't take it as homophobic either. I think painting a little boy's nails is weird. My boys would not go for that even at two. I hate this show and refuse to watch the child abuse. It is just wrong. I don't care how much the kids say they love it. It is frumpy, unpopular girls in high school mothers who are trying to make up for being this way by exploiting their kids.

All kids are beautiful. I don't think we need beauty pagents to determine this.

homophobic is a NASTY word to be throwing around, and that was really rude.I am not homophobic either but no one is going to be painting my sons nails or putting his hair up in a "pretty" for that matter! When he gets old enough to really decide HOW he wants to be he can but a child that young is going to be MORTIFIED to see this later. This show is gross and I would not waste my time with it, I have seen clips and it is sick what these parents do to these kids.I have my dd4 in ballet but she dances around however she wants and without tacky costumes and make up....and the very day she says "mommy I dont want to go to ballet" then we dont go period.

I'm not calling the poster a homophobe, I'm calling the statement homophobic... and it is, therefor I still stand by it.

Although, if it were a case of NO child that young painting their nails, I would understand but from what I read that's not what OP is concerned about. There is NOTHING wrong with a boy's nails being painted, as long as it's their choice. I remember boys nails being painted in school, although I remember them being a a little older, but no one had a problem with it.

What is the problem with it? Please tell me. The actual reason.

I know lots of gay men and none of them paint their nails, so I don't get what's homophobic about the OP. If anything, it would be more transgender-phobic (is that a word? ;)) :rotfl:

I have no problem with little boys (or girls) asking for a manicure and getting it. I do have a problem with wannabe beauty queen mothers living vicariously through their children and pushing them into this stuff, as it's obvious many of the moms on this show do. I also have a problem with judges who give better scores to spray tanned, false-teethed children, thereby teaching others that that's what they "have to" do to be competitive.
