Hello all!

We are one week away from our Disney Vacation with our almost 3 1/2 year old. We recently went to our local Sesame Place and she loved the water slides and park. I am not a huge fan but seeing her smile made me consider going to a waterpark in Disney.

Which waterpark (Typhon or BB) is more toddler friendley? She's 37 inches. Any other tips? Watershoes? She can actually swim, but Sesame required her to wear a lifejacket.

Thanks in advance!

You definitely want to wear water shoes. Walking around between things the pavement can get so hot. The only place I've been asked to take them off are a select few of the adult thrill rides. The bathroom floors can also be very slippery without them. I would recommend Blizzard beach because it breaks the kiddie zone into ages 0-6, and 12 and under. I don't remember typhoon lagoon doing that. My kids were just coming out of that phase when we started going, so maybe someone else can give you more info on TL. Also, either choice be very careful of the big pools both have very scratchy bottoms. I wouldn't take a toddler in either, one tumble and you will have a not so magical road rash souvenir.

What resort are you staying? Some of the resorts have fun kids spots.

Also are you using disney transportation? I think disney made it as hard as possible to get to the water parks. I don't know all the details but it's like you have to get to disney spring and then transfer to another bus. Perhaps they changed, but that's the last I heard.

Does your resort have a splash pad and kids slide? If so your toddler would probably be just as happy going on the same slide 500 times and playing in the splash pad. I'm pretty sure we could have foregone half of our park days on our trip in May for the kids slide at BLT if my 2 yo had her way.

A water park isn't worth the price for a toddler that can only use such a limited amount of attractions...and I'm someone who has no issue with spending money on experiences.

We are huge water park fans and very much enjoy BB - the Tike's Peak kids area (48" and under) is an ideal spot for toddlers and is loads of fun. Took DS a bunch when he was younger and have taken DD twice when she was 2 during the past year - she very much enjoyed Tike's Peak.

Tike's Peak is better (in my opinion) than the toddler area at TL, it's bigger and there's more to do.

Plenty of other things to do at BB with toddlers... Teamboat Springs (the family raft ride).... her face the first time she rode was priceless!! Lazy river.... the shallow part of the wave pool... etc, etc.

I'd vote got for it!

We're staying at Y&BC which I know has a lot of water activities for her and is like a waterpark itself! If we did the waterpark, I would use the Minnie Vans/Uber and by-pass the bus situation. The waterpark extra is free with our pass so wouldn't have to pay extra! Thanks!

Thank you everyone. I think we will see how the week goes and play it by ear. :)
