Does anyone know who makes the strollers that have a place for toddlers to stand in the back? The only one I have seen is by Baby Trend and costs around $140.00. I would like to learn of a less expensive one. Thanks.

I don't know about others, but I do have the Baby Trend sit-n-stand stroller and I can't tell you how much we love it. It is our third stroller and the BEST! I highly recommend it. If I had known when I was pregnant with my first what I know now, this would have been my first and only stroller!

Tell me more about this stroller. I am intrigued. DGS is only 7 months but he is a STANDER. Hates to sit or lay down--wants to stand all the time. I think he's going to skip crawling and go straight to walking!!!!!! This sounds like the kind of stroller that might come in handy--he can stand when he wants and lay down and sit when he wants. Is that correct? Or is it standing only??

It does both, but I find ours very hard to turn. It doesn't steer easily. And if your son is only 7 months, I would be afraid he would fall, even with the straps.

Sorry-- I meant when he is older----DH says he has to be at least 2 (yes TWO) before I can take him.

We have the sit n stand and we love it. I got it last yr when my dd was 2 and ds was 5 mos. I never considered a double stroller because I knew my dd would not like it. After much thought and discussion we are taking it with us to WDW. We figure we'll rent a double if we need it. We are also planning naps at the hotel so we dont need something for the kids to nap in. My dd was always good about staying on the stroller and was never a wanderer so this was the ideal stroller for us.

The various models of the Sit n' Stand are the only stroller specifically made for this purpose, though Peg Perego has a little ledge on some models that allow another child to stand for short periods (it's only about 3 inches wide.) Try getting a used S&S if you don't want to pay full price. (They are very heavy, lots of people find that they are too difficult to transport and get rid of them.)

You can also use attachments such as the buggy board on the back of a single stroller to achieve the same thing. This sort of attachment will run about $50 if you can find it on sale, $80 if you pay full price.

We have the Peg Perego Pliko umbrella stroller which has a small ledge for a toddler to stand on. It is expensive tho', I think we paid $199. We do love it and wouldn't consider not taking it do Disney.

We have one made by Century. The toddler can siton the bench on the back or stand on the platform. Great idea....just very heavy. Got it at Wal-Mart.

I saw a sit-and-stand DOUBLE stroller at a museum once. Should have stopped the people and found out where they purchased it. Does anyone else have any info on this?

Cgcw,

I found a double stroller with room for an additional child to stand/sit in the back at strollers4less.com. It is called the Sit n Stand LXV and is in the double stroller area of the website. It does consider this item a "closeout" so perhaps it is no longer being made (I did look on the Baby Trend website and there is no mention of this stroller so it must not be a current product).

I didn't look anywhere else to compare prices but it is about $220 there with free shipping. It is made by baby trend like the "single" sit 'n stand.

Hope this is helpful!!

I also found that Baby Trend now makes something called the "compact" sit n stand (I saw it at babysupermall.com and dmart2000.com) which supposedly folds up smaller and is lighter than the traditional sit n stands. It is still over $100 but may be a nice option to consider for someone looking to buy a stroller of this type.

I also found that dmart2000.com carries the Sit n Stand LXV (the one that seats 2 plus 1 on the sit/stand area) for $210 with free shipping.

Akasleepingbeauty,

Thank you so much for your help. Looks like I'll be doing a little shopping this afternoon.
