I will continue to offer prayers and hugs. If you would like to put me down for that go ahead. If that mother was a Dis poster, there would be no difference in response from me. There is no reason on earth that can justify leaving a child in a locked car. None! It is completely undefendable. I stay with my original opinion. This was pre-meditated. She will get no sympathy from me. Nor will she get hatred or condemnation. She simply needs to be dealt with according to the law. It is up to her to make her peace with God.

I can't imagine how desparate and scared that poor woman was to feel that leaving her child in the car was the only solution. I have known what it is like to not know how in the world a bill ( actually bills) will be paid, but fortunately I have always had my husband here to help-- he works days and I work nights. We have had days when he couldn't get home on time and I have been sick to my stomach trying to figure out how much trouble I would be in when I finally got to work ( and there are many times we have met at my job abd switched off the cars/kids). As long as I have lived here ( over 8 yrs) I still don't really have any friends to leave my kids with... *sigh* the whole thing is just so sad.... while I have never made the decision this woman made, I have also never been in her exact situation... I truly feel sorry for her... Yes, she IS responsible for her choices, but it's all just so sad.

Well.. I just read every post here...I have to say that I do not like being told that most of us have no heart, unless I misunderstood.... I do have a heart and right now it is hurting for Asante and her Mom...It upsets me terribly that someone could be so desperate as to leave their small child in a hot car while they worked.. What a terrible tragedy...I know as a Mother, I would not want to live if I knew that somehow I had contributed to the death of one of my children....My heart is broken here for this family..

I, for the life of me, will never understand why anyone would leave thier child locked in a car, for any amount of time.

Thier is diffrence between having compassion for someone who has made a decision that caused TRAGIC RESULTS and Under standing why they made that decision.

So are you disheartened by a lack of compassion?

Or is that you want use to try and uderstand why a person would leave thier child in a car to suffer and die?

I have a 5 year old. It's BEYOND my comprehension why ANYONE could allow their child to die so needlessly . Understanding of this mother's horrible mistake is truly elusive, at least for me. She has to truly live with her own pain for the rest of her life. She also should be prosecuted for the death of this poor child. However, she DOESN'T need to be vilified by some holier-than-thou, RIGHTEOUS DISers who apparently have NEVER made mistakes around the safety or care of their own children. ........

I guess that everyone is sooooooooooooooo PERFECT around here that they feel justified in "casting the first stone" .........

Villifing is something we are allowed to do as our own opinion. Anyways we didn't do it to her she did it to herself.

BTW I have made mistakes with my 3 year old.. but guess what he's still around.... Iw ould never leave him unattended wheter it be in a car, in the store, on the playground.... it's ridiculous!

PRESHI, I think that we ALL make mistakes in the care and protection of our children. Fortunately, most of our errors cause no harm. However, you have to be a little lucky, too .

I'm reminded of the story told by AL GORE. His son was gravely injured years ago when he was struck by a car while crossing the street. GORE had been holding his hand on the sidewalk.......but somehow had "let go" without rhyme nor reason. If the boy had been killed, would the RIGHTEOUS DISERS have spewed their venom??? .

No because Gore did not stop and think "Hmmm I think I will let go of his hand"...sometimes things just happen. This was a conscious, deliberate decision. The two cannot be compared.

When my 20 year old was 18 months, I lived with my mom while we were building our house. She lived on a busy 4 lane street. There were 3 of us home that morning...myself, my mom and my sis. I had just come in from working 11-7. I had been up for 26 hours. Somehow, my sis went to take a bath, my mom ran to the store and I fell asleep. My mom left the door unlocked. I was awakened to the doorbell. There was a woman on her way to work who found my son playing in the street in a puddle. She went door to door to find out where he lived. A tragedy could have happened. Fortunately it didn't.

I am not perfect, I will never be perfect, and I have never said I am. As parents, we make mistakes, we miscalculate. We are humans.

This woman chose to leave that child locked in the car. There was no accident.

BTW...I am REALLY getting tired of being judged and labelled.
