Hello!
We are taking our daughter for her first trip end of Feb. We are going for her 3rd birthday, and it should be a blast!

I know what things *I* think will be her must-dos, but wondering what others have found to be their toddler/preschooler's must-dos after going with them?

We have princess and character meals booked. FP for as much of Fantasyland as I could book. A Mickey meet FP... etc.

Thanks so much!

We took our daughter for her 4th birthday this past November. Sounds like you've got characters covered with meals, that was definitely the highlight for my daughter! She also LOVED the parades at MK and HEA (we watched it twice, along with Holiday Wishes). While there's not a whole lot to it, she also loved Toy Story Land and still talks about it almost every day!

Thank you!!
We have watched a few parade videos and she seems unimpressed, but I'm sure it will be different once we are there and IN the magic.

I'm glad to hear Toy Story Land was still fun for your daughter - I was worried it would be a let down for mine since she cant do Slinky Dog, which she loves videos of and calls it the Pluto ride that touches the sky

How tall is she? We did SDD so that was part of the reason she loved it so much!

My four year old's favorite things were Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (this is the one he brings up over and over even though our trip was in May!), Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Frozen Ever After, the Disney Junior breakfast at Hollywood Studios, the Be Our Guest restaurant, and Fantasmic.

She's about a half inch too short by our measurements. Shes tall for her age, but we aren't sure if shes mentally ready for it! Plus we couldn't get FP for it, and no way are we making her stand in an hour+ line, for everyone's sanity lol

We have that Disney Junior breakfast booked, so I'm hoping it's a big hit!
Totally forgot about Fantasmic! We always skipped the shows in our pre-kids days, so thank you for the reminder

Dumbos circus play area in MK. We took our 2 yr old and I think he would have lived there. Its got seats and its all air conditioning so its a nice rest while the kids play. Also the fountains that spray water up from the ground in epcot he loved playing in those we packed a swimmer and outfit change for it. Alien saucers in toy story land were a favorite.

I recommend maybe letting your child watch on YouTube first - some little ones love it and some find it way too scary!

We went in October, the week before our son turned 3. I thought it was a great time to go...still free, but no diapers! We’d gone when he was 18 months, but I thought 3 years old was more fun.

At DHS, we did EMM. It ended up being a great value for us. We did all 3 rides (some of them twice) and met the characters - Woody/Jessie and Buzz. The only thing my son talk Ed about before our trip was meeting Chewie, so we knew we had to do that! We also met Sofia, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Olaf, Pluto, and Goofy. We saw the Frozen show and the Muppets 3D show, bit of which my son really enjoyed.

At AK, my son really loved Nav’i River Journey. He also enjoyed the Safari and Lion King show. We met some characters...I remember Timon and Pocahontas off the top of my head. I think the highlight of his day was...playing in the Boneyard playground. Go figure.

At Epcot, he really liked Turtle Talk and he’s apparently one of the 3 or 4 people who likes Gran Fiesta Tour. We were there during Food & Wine, so we spent a lot of the day eating, which is another hobby of my son’s. We met Belle, Anna, and Elsa in World Showcase, and Mickey/Minnie/Goofy at the character spot.

At MK, we also did EMM. It was nice to knock out 3 rides (it’s even more now) before the park even opened. My son really loves a lot of MK. Some of his favorites are Dumbo, small world, Enchanted Tiki Room, Winnie the Pooh, and the speedway. He also loved playing in the play area near Splash while my DH rode. We met a couple of characters...Cinderella, Elena, Merida, and Ariel. I may or may not have forced him to meet all of these princesses. I really wanted to meet them and the pictures are adorable!

We also did character meals at Tusker House and Crystal Palace. We did breakfast to keep the cost down and both were big hits with all 3 of us!

We stayed at the Poly and he enjoyed just hanging out and playing on the beach, quite honestly.

It was a great trip. I hope we can go back relatively soon!

Our 2.5 yo and 4 yo's favorite is the HM..by far. We went in August and took them back again in October, and they even had to dress up like the HM so I had Etsy shirts made up for the guys and dresses for the girls. The kids LOVE "the ghost party" and the "Grim, Grinning, Ghosts" is a favorite song.

Go before she turns 3 if you can. Then she isn't three until she gets home from the trip and you don't need to buy her a ticket or get her fast passes.

Exactly why we are going the week before her 3rd birthday!! ;)
And its how I got my husband on board since he thinks she is too young. Free always wins! Haha

Thank you for so much detail! We going right before her 3rd birthday, too, for exactly the same reasons!! Ha!

We are going next year 3 weeks before my son turns 3!

We went this year when my daughter was 3.75, and her favorite things were:
-meeting mickey/minnie and friends
-character meals
-Peter Pan's Flight
-Merry-Go-Round
-Toy Story Midway Mania
-Dumbo ride and play area
-Winnie the Pooh ride

Make sure you check out the play areas in the parks. There are good ones in MK and AK. Epcot has a small play area in the seas pavilion. It's a good way to let the kids burn off energy when they're spending much of the day sitting in the stroller or standing in line.
