I continue to be amazed by the growth these birds are making each day! I am astounded and fascinated to see their wings develop! Also, I've noticed that their beaks are starting to darken to the brown shade typical of finches.
They look like they're getting a bit crowded, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them begin to fly soon.
From the info I've gathered on the web, house finches begin to fly anywhere from 11-19 days after hatching. One of the birds hatched 11 days ago and the others 10 days ago... I guess I should start preparing myself to say "good-bye" to my feathered friends.

Without further ado, here are Today's Birdie Pics!

In fact, the birdlings are getting so crowded in there that they're beginning to hang over the edge of the nest -- as you can see in the two pics below!

The pic above also gives you a great perspective as to where the nest is located on my porch -- tucked right into the column!
The pic below just helps you to see how ... um.... "evenly" the birds have ... "decorated" their nest in black and white!

We're given a hearty welcome by this little guy... It's getting hard to tell if it's Fro or not... Their spiky hair is starting to thin and disappear.

I just so enjoy admiring these pics... examining the detail in their feathers, wings, eyes, and beaks! I also love their expressions! I suspect that the bird in the lower right corner of #5 is Sleepy (aka: Grumpy Bird) from yesterday's photos!
Hope you all enjoy looking at them as much as I do!
