Today was day 1 to book the room discounts for this summer. I had a 1 day ressie at ASMO for May 26 before transferring to POFQ for free dining. My DH just called to add the 15% discount and they have no availability for standard rooms already! :scared1: We were allowed to upgrade our room and get a preferred at the discount, which saved us $3.00 total.

I can't believe on day 1 there is already nothing available for some categories in resorts! We called expecting to get a quick $20 back and ended up upgrading to net $3.00. On the bright side this will probably be the only time my DH lets us try a preferred room! :lmao:

Unfortunately (for you), the codes were working yesterday and many here posted that they were actually able to get the deals then.

Why the codes went in early, no one knows, but Disney must have decided to allow it work early and allow those that knew about it and tried to book early, to get the deals.

I noticed the week I was looking for, Beach Club Garden View rooms were already booked around 10:30 this morning! I couldn't believe it!

I think everyone is missing the fact that certain rooms are not available because Disney simply just did not made them available. It really had nothing to do with a certain type room already being sold out. Disney will only offer certain rooms, at certain resorts that they need to fill. As people call to switch rooms to a discounted room they may open up the rooms your looking for. Please, if you are wanting a discount switch your room, if you want a discount on the room type and resort you have then continue to call and see if they open up.

I tried to upgrade to a mod. from Pop for our May 27-June 2nd trip 4 days ago, and there were no standard rooms available. Oh, well. Kiddos wanted Pop anyway!

We're kinda in the same boat. I thought about upgrading to a mod when I got the discount with the visa code. I knew it was probably "now or never" at that point. I eventually decided to take the extra moola once I remembered how much the kids wanted to stay at Pop. But for a brief moment I was crazed with thoughts of extra room and a free fridge.

I think like so many we already had a reservation and were waiting for some kind of discount.

We wanted to stay at BWI this trip and my agent said to book ahead and sit back and wait. That resort fill up fast.

We booked 2 rooms in September with a AAA rate, upgraded to a GP rate yesterday. I'm still hoping for an AP rate though.

We were booked at ASMu since October 2010 at the rack rate for 4 nights starting 4/28 and yesterday I called to apply the public discount but there were no rooms available, let alone at that discounted rate. I was able to get the rate discount applied if I moved to POP. We wanted to be in the center of it all for Cheerleading Worlds and they are all staying sy the All Stars but for a $50 a night savings to move to POP, I decided to do it. I noticed that alot of resorts (my fave, Beach Club) would not apply the code so like someone said, the discounts are based on select rooms at select resorts.

Ditto! Not all rooms or all room categories are offered with the discount. The discounts are often only available on the rooms/room categories and at the hotels where Disney needs to fill rooms. If a room category is already showing a high percentage of booking during a certain period most likely that room category will not be available as part of the discount promotion.

We had a standard view room booked at CR for late August and the CM I spoke with told me that all the discounted rooms had alread gone so I upgraded to Atruim Club with the 35% off

That's interesting you say that. When I was booking our room only ressies under the FL ressie discount, and before I narrowed my search to All Star Sports, it took me to the pricing page and showed All Star Movie available, but ONLY under preferred rooms. The option was NOT there to change to standard room. So that tells me, 1)the rooms were booked at that rate already or 2) there were no rooms to book at that rate because they were already filled at regular rates.
So I narrowed my search and decided All Star Sports over Pop and was given the option for a standard or preferred room....I choose standard.

Should of mentioned that we do have the free reg, dining plan. So maybe thats why?

Well we just booked our 6 night stay last week of September for a 2 bdrm at AKL Kidani around 1pm and I just went through the search process again on Disney's site to play with prices with the ticket add-ons and there are no more discounted 2 bdrms available at Kidani!

Guess I'm glad I decided to get nervous about the rooms selling out :woohoo:

Even on January 1st when I called, POFQ had no rooms available for our dates at that discount. CSR was already sold out and had been for a few weeks which left us with CBR or POR. CBR had all room types available, POR had preferred and standard, but no waterview. I sort of wonder if this code was for a block of fewer rooms than usual.

Maybe they'll release something else in the way of a discount for those dates in the next few weeks. I hope so, my discount for 11 nights at CBR was only about $400, far better than nothing but far less than free dining would be which is what I am keeping my fingers crossed for (but doubt it happens for my June dates). Free dining saves me $2100 for my family of four adults.

Disney did not allow it to work early. The code was loaded early for testing, and some people took advantage of the fact that there are CM's out there that didn't read the advisory telling them not to book it until 1/3.

My family and I were one of those people who was able to call on 1/1 instead of 1/3 and we don't feel like we did anything wrong. Now we were going to wait for 1/3 since that was the date posted when we could call, however when I read of others calling and getting it early then I said we better do the same. So the way I see it WDW allowed it to work early because the Cast Members were the ones who allowed it to go through. I can see others being upset because maybe the room or resort they wanted on these codes are now sold out, however they also had a chance to call earlier then expected and never did. Finally it's not like anyone used an invalid code or anything when calling early and we didn't ask for it to be posted early on wdwinfo.com, so maybe next time information like that should not be added until the day we can call with valid discount codes.
