So today, I made my dining reservations for our trip in April over Easter.

I got everything I was looking for and I'm pretty sure I'll be OK but I wanted to get your thoughts on my EPCOT PPO ressie. Will we be able to get in and wait to hopefully be seated before 8:30am? I'm hoping to rope drop FEA and I was hoping to be at the EPCOT gates at 7:45 to try to get into breakfast as early as possible.

Thursday 4/13 (arrival day- EPCOT AM/AK PM)... no ADRs, planning to eat at F&G booths and Flame Tree BBQ

Friday 4/14 (MK Rope Drop - EPCOT PM)... Crystal Palace Lunch at 1:25pm

Saturday 4/15 (MK All Day)... BoG Lunch 12:20pm, 'Ohana Dinner 7:10pm

Sunday 4/16 (DAK AM - DHS PM)... 2 Dinner reservations to choose from later (Mama Melrose 5:45pm, Cape May Cafe Easter Dinner 7pm)

Monday 4/17 (EPCOT Rope Drop)... Akershus PPO Breakfast at 8:30am

I would ditch Crystal Palace lunch. It's way over priced for extremely mediocre food. And if you want to see all the characters, plan to stay for a long time. Holding two reservations you're actually doing a last minute planner a favor. Because they'll get a wonderful surprise when they attempt last minute to get an adr and one has now opened up since you've cancelled it. :)

Im not one for holding 2 either, until I needed to!!! Im going late March - early April and hoping ROL at AK will be up and running (though I recently heard that dinner packages wont open up until May, but heard some rumor that the show many actually start earlier than that) so I booked a Tusker House dinner just in case. But...I had to bump off my beloved San Angel Inn to do it. I decided to book both and if the show isnt running, Ill cancel the Tusker House.

Another who believes holding 2 ADRS during a very busy time is very unfair.
@caroline1851 i disagree. It is not making someone happy at the last minute, it is about denying a family trying to plan their special trip, just like the OP is. @DISNEY1975 you don't need to, you want to.

You are 99.9999999% correct, but I do hold Disney .0000001% responsible. If they would be more open about what is actually going on with the show, then I could actually make my special plans. Im taking my mother with me and most of our meals will be at our resort since she does not get around too well. My favorite is SAI and I am planning a night out with my husband. Since we (or anyone else) has never seen the ROL show, I dont want to miss that, but if I have one meal to go to, I would prefer SAI.

But, *everyone* is in that boat.
When we make our special trip, it will be our last ever as a family. Does that mean our plans mean more than the other people with *their* special reasons? To us they do. But, actually, they don't, they don't mean we should get our first choice PLUS a back up in case something else happens, so that someone else cannot get their once in a life time dream. I *hope* our choices will be available at 180+10. If they are not, they we make other choices. I would feel horrible knowing someone is holding that dream meal just to discard when they decide what they *really* want. I know how much our trip means, so assume other people have trips that mean as much. And that we are all in the same boat. But we are not if people are moving the goal posts by holding second choices just in case.

And like I said, normally I am not a fan of holding 2. Ive been to WDW many many many many times. If something I want is not available, I make adjustments. If I cant decided between The Plaza and LTT for lunch, I will make a decision before my ADRs. I never hold 2 because I cant decided now and will choose later between 2 restaurants that are already open. If there is a show, I will go to Tusker House. If there is no show, I will go to SAI. Hopefully Disney will announce something sooner rather than later and I will be able to cancel what I wont be using. Im not holding BOG dinners for very night of our trip because I dont know which day I want to go. I dont think what I am doing is ridiculously unreasonable.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone. I actually cancelled the Mama Melrose ADR because I decided that we really only wanted to eat there if we could get the Fantasmic package. So I will hold on to my Cape May ADR unless F! packages become available.

Does anyone else have experience with the Akershus PPO ADRs? Do you think we will be able to get in and get seated earlier than 8:30 for the Akershus breakfast?
