On August 14, 1848, the Oregon Territory was established.

Unfortunately, what it doesn't say about the Boxer Rebellion is that foreign imperialist powers had forced humiliating conditions on China as a result of its loss in the Opium War... where Britain sold tons of this narcotic and forced it on the Chinese population. Funny, wonder how others would feel if someone came into your house forcing you to buy drugs at gunpoint. :rolleyes:
