Any other Toby Mac fans here?

:wave2:

His new "Alive and Transported" DVD and CD are excellent!

The gospel channel had him featured last night on the Faith & Fame series. We watched. It was an excellent program and had lots of interviews with Toby, his wife, and Michael Tait. Talked about how DC Talk started, going solo, etc. He seems very grounded in his faith and seems like super nice guy! Very beautiful family!

Oh I wish I would have seen that last night! I think he's great, but don't know much about his family.

we love Toby...all our kids especially like Truett's additions to all the cds. The one on Portable Sounds is pretty funny:lmao:

He puts on a great concert, too. From listening to him and his wife talk about how they ended up together, sounds like she made him really work for her:lmao: :lmao:

They might run it again. We don't always watch there but DH was flipping the channels and stopped there.

They have 3 biological children and a set of twins they adopted.

He does do a great concert! We saw him on the beginning end of the Portable Sounds tour. Looking forward to going to Winter WonderSlam in Atlanta.

His wife seemed really geniune too. I liked what Michael Tait said when they had been talking about what he went through to even get her to kind of acknowledge his presence. "Most people are looking for someone they can live with while in fact we should be looking for someone we can't live without."

YEP-plus, I thought it was pretty romantic of him to track her down and fly halfway around the world to her, esentially telling her that she was more important to him than anything else...though I might have been annoyed with him for the way he made himself sort of a member of her family while he was trying to win her affections. All in all I think it's a rather neat story they've got for their children.

I can totally understand the statement by Tait, too. It is amazing the difference in your life all around when you have someone you can't live without vs someone you just put up with.:rotfl: I readily admit I don't know how I could live without my DH...

I had never heard of Toby Mac until a few months ago when my 11 YO DNiece went with her friend to his concert in Tampa (I think) She was excited to be going to the concert (it was her first concert other then Kenny Chesney - which she has been to see 5 times) She still talks about the Toby Mac concert and how they got to meet him backstage.

Sounds like a nice guy and I think its great that he is able to share his faith the way he does.

Both the kids love Toby Mac as well. DS has been to two of his concerts and DD to one. Can't wait to see him again!

We probably got some weird looks as we were driving in to school today, we had "Alive and Transported" playing and I think it's the 2nd or 3rd song starts out with a beat and then TM says, "Ya'll lean with me". So I yell over the music to the kids, "you guys gotta lean". So here we go down the interstate with TM blasting in the mini van leaning away......:rotfl:

I love this quote from Toby: (found on the "Alive and Transported CD) (Got a little praise & worship going on this morning):goodvibes

Listen

If you forget everything else that is said tonight

Take this right here home with you

No matter what you’re going through

No matter how deep you’re problem is

No matter how deep that cut is that hurt you

No matter how deep a hole you’ve got your life into this very night

God made you and God made me

So that He could love us, so that He could love us

You see sometimes when life is coming at us, we get a little cloudy

We get a little cloudy and we forget that simple thought that God loves us

And sometimes maybe we turned our back on God and walked away

Maybe it was a bunch of little things or maybe

It was one big leap into something really foolish

But nonetheless, you look up and find yourself way over here

And in your mind you are as far away from God’s love tonight as you have ever been

And these are the lies that start filling our head

Lies like, “I’ve done to much”

“I don’t want to trudge back through all that junk to get back to God”

“I’m just gonna live over here” “I’m to embarrassed”

These are the lies that fill our minds

But let me tell you about the truth tonight, this is the truth

No matter how many times you’ve been over here

No matter how far over here you are

No matter what you are addicted to

Tonight you don’t have to trudge through all that junk to get back to God

If you just turn around God will meet you right where you are

That is the truth, that’s the truth

You are one turn, one second from God’s perfect love

As soon as you turn around, as soon as you turn around and ask His forgiveness

His love will shower over you, His arms will wrap around you

Because you are God’s child and God loves His children

God loves You!

And the reason we can do all that, the reason we can turn around

Is because there is a bridge between us and God

That’s God’s Son and His name is Jesus Christ

He makes up the difference

God also created you and me so that we could adore Him, so that we could call Him Abba

So that we could worship Him together and raise our voices together

Let’s just adore God for a minute…….

We were made to adore You, made just for You (repeat)……..

Ooh, I LOVE Toby!! How fun to log in to the Community Board and see his name here, I almost did a double take, thought I was seeing things. :rotfl: Love all his stuff, but Boomin' and the J train remix on the Momentum CD are real standouts for me. I've got the Alive and Transported discs in my Amazon cart. I was planning to put it away for my son for Christmas, but I'm not sure I can wait that long.

We've seen him in concert a couple of times... he puts on an EXCELLENT show! I'll never forget years ago when my son and I first discovered him. After listening to him in the car, my anti "hip hop/rap, etc" husband said: "I wish you'd stop listening to him, I'm starting to like him". :rotfl2:

:goodvibes I have to say the first time I ever really listened to his music I think he was touring with Newsong's Winter Jam and I just thought he was okay. DS however we hooked. So we bought CD's and now we all love Toby Mac. You will LOVE the new CD & DVD!!!!! It's got lots of stuff from old to new, even a redo of Jesus Freaks!!!!! Excellent!!!! BTW, I don't know what the Amazon price is for it, Lifeway had it advertised at $14 and change when it first came out and I almost made a special trip to get it, stopped by Wal-mart and they had it for $11 and change.

He's pretty good...I liked him in the Spiderman movies. :rolleyes1

I had to google this to make sure we were talking about the same person.....

I didn't know anything about it, LOL, of course I haven't seen Spiderman 3 either.

I know that his song The Slam was featured on the trailer for either The Transporter 1 or 2.

My nephew signed "I was made to love you" to my niece to propose. He is a favorite here.

LOL! :p I hadn't realized until you said that, that there was so much similarity between the two names!

DOH!! I had a "senior moment" yesterday when I typed that it was in my Amazon cart. I checked my account this morning, and I already have the CD! I'd forgotten that I'd submitted an order with them recently. I stash Christmas goodies throughout the year, so I guess that CD is one of things hiding out in my closet somewhere. Looks like I paid 13.99. Rats. Oh well... I'd have paid twice that to get it, so I guess I won't complain too loudly. :p

I did the very same thing the first time I saw him! He was touring with Third Day. His part of the show was too loud for me so I had a hard time getting into his set. A few months later, I found him on a WOW CD, then we saw him at Spirit West Coast in Monterey. Oh my goodness! I was hooked after that!!

...and I just had to say, the quote you posted from the CD is beautiful! That and a redo of Jesus Freaks has me seriously considering digging it out of my closet sooner rather than later! :)
