I commend you !!!! :worship: you LOL !!! I give you credit for getting a trip to WDW and xmas togther at the same time !!! It is A LOT of work and you should be proud of yourselves for pulling it off !!!

I am going Dec 29th, and I am like ... %$%$#%$# ahhhhhhh so hard to get it all together !

Can decide if I should be xmas happy or Disney happy .... me and my daughter are going back and forth and its sooooo FUNNY !!!!!

Yikes a lot to be looking forward to all at once !!!

Have a blast !!!!! oh and MERRY Christmas !!!!

This is our first trip to WDW for Christmas - and this has been the most relaxing Christmas for us ever. We are not buying any gifts and only making a couple favorite Christmas treats. I'm finding time to truly enjoy the season.

Same here Northwoods! Call us the Cranks! No decorations (ok, well a few) no baking, no parties, no (immediate family) gifts and NO HASSLE! I am LOVING it!!! Can't wait! 16 more days!!!

How about Christmas, WDW and final exams all within three weeks?! I'm having final exams for the next week, I leave for WDW two days after my last final, and I'll be home the day before Christmas Eve - with out-of-state family arriving the day I get back, after leaving the house with DH and two teenage sons for a week! I don't care though; I'll do whatever it takes to go to WDW! :p And December at WDW is so beautiful, it's worth all the effort. :D

Basically we are doing what a few of the others have mentioned. We aren't really getting gifts other than a few small things to put in the stockings we'll bring with us to the Poly. Luckily (sadly too!) our boys no longer believe in Santa so they 'get' that Disney is very expensive. Disney is technically my Christmas. They didn't have a lot of interest in going again so as a compromise (extra treat) we're also doing Universal for 2 days which we've never done before. Goodness knows they really have sooo much already. Do they need one more video game?? LOL

I'm not missing the decorating/tree mess and I'm dieting so don't want the Christmas baking anyway! I wish we could go away every Christmas.

looks like our countdown is only a few hours apart!!!! it has been a slightly crazy time for me as well but i'm loving every minute!!!! not only do we have christmas and disney to look forward to, my dd will be turning seven while we're there!!!!! hope you enjoy your trip....maybe we'll se you there!!!

I am leaving for Disney in 9 days. I have finals the DAY BEFORE WE LEAVE and we will be home really late on the 23rd; just in time for Christmas.
I AM CRAZY, but I love it. :jumping2: :jumping2:

frsttimers ... yep cool huh!

I have the tree up and house decor done, shopping and wrapping not done, don't bake, so who cares on that LOL !

But this is very fun !!! MERRY DIS-MAS !!!!!!!!!! wahooooo !!!

DS just made things a bit easier expressing that he would like to wait until we return home to see what Santa may have brought...so that has given some HUGE breathing room......good thing to 'cause we still thought we were going to have to cancel and we have not done ANYTHING to get ready for the trip...and I mean not one thing....next week is going to be psychotic..but in a good way!
Have a blast on your trip and Merry Christmas to you also!

Pam

We are leaving in a few days staying until the New Year's. I am finding it VERY stressful trying to plan both WDW and Christmas. I just finished my shopping & wrapping last week (whew!!). I didn't buy much for my boys (just stocking stuff), but I do have 13 nieces & nephews plus 2 sets of parents to buy for. I finally have my cards & boxes ready to be mailed before I leave. It was a lot of work, I think, getting ready so early in the season. NOW I can concentrate on trying to get my packing done these next couple of days.

There's no point in decorating the house inside or outside or putting up a tree, so I find that very depressing. All of our Christmas traditions this year have been put on the shelf. My 12 yo DS is having some trouble with that. Right now I'm feeling that this will be the one and only Christmas WDW trip that I schedule. I feel like I've written off Christmas and the fun things that go along with it. Of course, WDW will be fun too :) I'm sure I"ll change my mind when I'm finally down there and all the stress of getting ready will be lifted off my shoulders.

It's just weird, I guess, trying to plan for both at the same time....

Since we are doing the disney trip we too are not buying gifts for each other or the kids. (Isn't Disney enough?) To us as adults we think so but I commend all those kids out there that don't need additional things and agree that going to Disney is a great Christmas gift. We have decided to get each of our kids one small thing at Disney so they have something to open on Christmas day. Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get a gift wrapped or should I bring my own paper?

I'm freaking out as well! We leave the 18th. We're having our extended family Christmas the 17th. I told DD that the trip was the big gift for all of us but, of course, I still want her and DH to have a few things to open on Christmas day. Trying to get all the presents bought and wrapped, do Christmas cards, get everything done at work, work holiday party---arghh.. I think it'll all be worth it when we get down there, though. Two full weeks. :cool1: :cool1:

In a few years I plan to make it a tradition each year to go to WDW for Christmas. They do my decorating, feed me, clean up ( and put the decorations away after Christmas ). What more could a girl ask for ? It makes my holiday time with family less stressful.

10 days and counting :thewave:

I have to admit that I've been a little stressed with both the trip and x-mas at the same time. But, I've discovered a wonderful thing for relatives...gift certificates!!! :teeth: Even better -- you can get them online with NO SHIPPING!! That's right -- no driving, waiting in lines, etc.

I told my girls that this trip was their Christmas present and they said, "That's great! Disney is the best gift we could get anyway!!" I love them! Anyway, we just got a small tree and I just brought down one box of ornaments and decorations. With that and our Christmas cds and the dvd "Elf" we've been able to get in the Christmas spirit. Oh! We're driving on Christmas day, so my friend and I decided to buy little gifts (magazines, lip gloss, etc.) and give one to them as we cross each state.

I'm not sure I'll be able to do this again, but ask me afterwards and I may say that I wouldn't have it any other way!

We're leaving on the 18th as well and will stay through Christmas for the second time in 2 years. It is always a little stressful for us bc we have my DS's birthday only a few days after New Year's and so once we get back, I have to tie up loose ends before his party :cake: . We have already wrapped DS's gifts (DH and I exchange before we leave) and will cart them down to Florida with us, only to bring them all the way home (thank goodness for minivans). What's nice is that we haven't bothered with Christmas decorations or a tree in our home for the past three seasons (we moved into our home 3 days before Christmas in 2002). Our neighbors think we are nuts to drive down in the winter time, but I love going from cold weather to warm!

I am a Christmas nut, so planning our trip to WDW over Christmas has been very stressing for me. I have the big Christmas at home thing down so well. Every thing we do for the holiday has some element of family tradition. I have managed to figure out how to carry on most of those traditions while at WDW, but my husband says I am starting to look like I have Christmas OCD, not being able to "just go to WDW and have fun doing it the WDW way instead of the way2manykids way."

I too am big on it and lots of tradition ! But I am going on the 29th so I can still do my "thing", but man...its a lot of work to do both so close!

Trees coming down on the 26th! That'll be weird ! But gotta put it all away and PACK !!!

O.K. Got the celebration with DH's family done yesterday which leaves me finishing up shopping and shipping to mine...finding our suitcases, buying tix, wrapping kids stuff...I did get a box off to the resort yeaterday w/ stuff for Christmas...Di I mention that we just decided on Friday...yes, 2 days ago..that we are definitely going? :cool1: Anyway..basically have a very short time to pull this off...so my stress meter is at about a 75 out of 100...I did get the hold put on our mail...gotta go...too much to do!
