Hi
Ime posting this on here as i never seem to get much response when i post on the Dcl page. :confused3

I Have a Q regarding payment at the end of the cruise. We will be issued with thE KTTW cards to purches other items on board, do DCL charge you at the end of the cruise? I have a American Express travel cheque card and was going to use this to pay the final bill.
Has any one used this to pay at the end of their cruise?
Any advise or information would be of great help

Thanks
Marv

i'm not sure of the answer since we used a credit card...
however it's my understanding that you can use cash or a credit card to settle your account at the end...the American Express Traveler's cheque card is the same as cash isn't it?....so it should be ok....

but maybe someone here knows the answer for sure..
or else you could call DCL and ask them...

Hi Marv

Im not sure, I dont think it should be a problem, we paid in cash and Travellers Cheques, so as this is a travellers cheque card, I would imagine that it could be used in the same way.

Like Beth says, it might be a good idea to give them a call just to be sure. :goodvibes

Hi,
Amex don't recommend using the TCC in this way, I think the reason being that hotels (DCL in your case) pre-assign a certain amount of "credit" before you use it. Usually this is about $1500 in Disney hotels but I'm not sure about DCL. One option would be to do what I did on our last trip that is to register a credit card (assuming you have one) at the start of your stay then on your final night pay the outstanding amount with you TCC. If you decide to do this with DCL you may be best making a payment each day as they charge the card on file when your account reaches a certain amout, I seem to think this was about $300 in our case. Hope this makes sense, if not let me know and I'll try to clarify.

Mick.

I have just phoned DCL and they say they dont accept the Amex travel cheque card. I have travel cheques to take and i was going to use these for food, parking, ect for our stay before the cruise.
I will now use these cheque's for the cruise and use the card for food and other things and if i need cash, i can get this from an ATM but i really didn't want to do this as they charge $2.50 for this privalige.
We do have credit cards but was not wanting to use them.

Hi Marv.
You are right, they charge you at the end of the cruise, you use the KTTW card the whole time onboard. If you worried about keeping track on your spending, you can go to Guestservices any time and they print you a rundown of the money spend.I did tha the last time on our cruise, because there was some mix-up with my sisters and my cards,we had 2 cards registered at check-in for each of us.
Guest service is very helpful.
See you in April
Conny :) :)

Hi conny

Thanks for your reply it seems that the Travel cheque card that i was going to use for the cruise wont be excepted for payment. Ime going to use the travel cheques that i was going to use for food for our stay before the cruise on the cruise now and use the travel chq card for our stay in Florida. (if that makes sense)
Ime happier to know that The Kttw card will be paid by cash ie Travelers chq's so i dont run up a credit card bill.
Ime not happy about drawing money from the ATm with my Travel Chq card as they charge $2.50 but have worked it out that if i get the limit every 3-4 days then i will proberly just be charged around $20 dollars to this the whole time we are there.
I was abit worried that we end up trying to use the card in say Golden corral 1 morning for breakfast and find they dont except the card so ill need to make sure we have cash on us.

I bet your getting excited now conny, i got on the dCL web the other day cant make any reservations until the 7th of Feb oohh thats tomorrow!!!!!

What about on board credit
If I have this right
you can put $$$$ on your card at the begining of the cruise
and what ever you do not spend at the end you get back

it works someway like that I Think

Like you i have found that posting on the main Cruise borad you do not always get an answer to your question
not like our family friendly board here even if we don;t know the answer we will still give you a bit of hope :wizard:

Thanks everyone

Hi Marv,
I have to say I'm surprised that DCL don't accept the TCC to pay your final bill as I paid for my cruise using it last week.!! I was under the impression that if a company accept Amex cards (which Disney do) then they accept the TCC. I can tell you that when we used the card last November in lots of places in Florida we had no problems using it anywhere. As I have mentioned in previous posts just make sure you keep your receipts and keep a check on the amount you are spending so you don't overspend.

Ive been on and reserved bikes for us all on Castaway cay also booked the kids into the childrens club.
Havn't booked spa but would like to get the day pass for the rain forest room, but its not online to do that.
Ime also going to ring DcL later to book the bon voyage decorations and cake for the stateroom.
It was simple and easy to do this on line and you are able to print out your confermations.

remember to take along some single dollars if you plan on using room service...
the room service food is included, but the tip is extra.....so you need single dollars for those tips...(when i ordered food for our two kids from room service, i tipped the CM $2).....

by the way, i highly recommend the room service...the food was good and very fast....
we used it on Nassau day......we went into that hotel...i've forgotten the name...with all the swimming pools....we spent about two hours on the slides and in the pools and lazy river and then went back to the ship...
we wanted to be back for the special showing of Lilo and Stitch in the big theatre.....so when we got back, we all hopped into the showers and then i ordered room service which came in a flash and then we went down to the movie....

this was on our first cruise...on our second cruise we stayed on the ship in nassau....

Yes ide better take plent of single dollars then as my kids are so excited about room service, they cant wait to order.

The pool at Atlantis was that an Excursion i ask as i saw the Atlantis day but ide read that if you wanted to use the pool and the slides at Atlantis then you would have to book a room. Is this correct?
