September 24th 2007 (Day 12)
Early start today! CS breakfast (choc chip pancakes with bacon for me, cheese omelette for Steve) then off to Busch Gardens. We filled up on the way in Davenport (I know a lot of people stay here for Orlando holidays but I think i'd find it a bit of a trek personally) The journey was a good one with very little traffic and we got there for 10am (opening) We headed straight for Sheikra which was amazing, wowowow! Next up was Kumba and Rhino Rally (very funny driver: "Anyone know what those pink birds are?" "Flamingos!" "Nope Florida lawn ornaments!") If i'm honest I think Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom is a teeeensy bit of a rip-off! After this was Montu, the African safari and a quick stop for a snack (soo many yummy looking cakes, it was a tough decision to choose one!)
Mr/Ms Hyena, I know exactly how you feel!
Now for my favourite BG attraction: Lory Landings! If you haven't already visited it you must, as long as you're not scared of birds of course!
Steve Dolittle!
I wanted to take these birds home, they're so funny!
After being pecked at we made our way to the Hyambe (gorilla) reserve..
Insert amusing caption here, i'm feeling uninspired!
Few other pics from the day..
It was probably the hottest day of the holiday so far and called it a day at 2:30pm. Steve was getting a migraine and we ended up not going to Bahama Breeze for dinner as planned, instead we just had pizza in the room using 2 CS credits (you can get a big one plus 2 drinks and desserts for that which is a pretty good deal) There was a couple of TV premieres on tonight (Prison Break and something else..) so we just chilled in the room for the rest of the evening.
