Okay for all of your Vero lovers.....SELL ME PLEASE!!!!! I know I want to try Vero so that much I do know. My oldest son (almost 15) has asked again to go to Vero next summer. He wanted to plan a trip there this past July.......but we ended up booking a longgggg trip at Disney instead. However we (all of us) want to stay at BCV again next summer like this past July. We all loved it. THEN......ADD the fact that we just added on to AKV site unseen, never even been in the resort.....I feel we should spend some time there too. My youngest son and hubby are looking forward to staying there. OUR original plan was to stay AKV for 2-3 nights then switch to BCV for a week. Now I am thinking AKV, BCV ending with 3 nights at Vero before heading home. This past summer we stayed 14 nights....really don't want to do that this time. WE had a great trip but spent lot of money and I was thinking 10 days tops for summer 09. SO....now I am in a pickle on what to do. Going to Vero means renting a van too. We fly in and always use a car service and Disney transportation. I have done two split summer stays. Summer of 07 we stayed 5 nights at SSR followed by 3 at BWV. This past July we stayed OKW for 8 nights followed by 6 at BCV.

Any suggestions??????

JMHO. if I were you I would stay first at AKV, your new home, then stay at least 3 nights at Vero Beach. Since you already have stayed at BCV, I would go to your new home. Vero Beach is nothing like Ocean City Maryland. I love it because it is NOT CROWDED. I get a true, beach experience with the town as well as with the resort. It is relaxing. Do all of your running around at WDW, then go to Vero Beach to RELAX! Great way to wind down, love, love, love the water! :goodvibes You could take ME to and from the airport, then just rent a car for 3-4 days, return it to the airport, and go home!

I'd say split your stay with AKV and then 3 nights at Vero. We did this over the past summer (2 nights at Vero then 5 nights at OKW). I have teenagers and they liked lounging around the beach, playing mini golf, and hanging around the pool. Also my husband took my two older kids (18 and 15) out on a jetski on the ocean. Although the age to drive the jetski is 25, the operator said he would "look the other way" if the drivers were to switch out on the ocean. Needless to say when my son was the driver (the 15 year old), the screams heard on the beach by my daughter (the 18 year old) were priceless.

We were there in August and were lucky enough to see a release of a turtle hatchling. It was amazing to see that little guy swim into the ocean!

We are thinking of doing the same trip again this summer only adding one more night to Vero and putting Vero at the end of the trip. My husband and I enjoyed Vero so much that he and I are headed down in January when my daughter is home from college. We are doing a split stay AKV and Vero.

Hope you go and check it out. You will love it.

 BUt WE JUST LOVED BCV.....loved loved loved it. OH this is sooooooooooooooooooo hard it is making me
I want to stay at AKV too.....I do. It all appeals to me.....

We love BCV too, especially in the summer! It's funny but I was thinking of a similar plan for next year since Kidani Village will be open and we've never been to Vero yet. I honestly think your original plan is a great idea. A few days at AKV to check it out, time at BCV (you could always do 5 or 6 days to cut back) and an ending at Vero (I would go for 3 days since 2 sometimes seems rushed by the time you check in etc...).

Of course, I am all for the longer Disney trips after the past 3 weeker!lol Good luck planning! Maybe just play around with the # of days at each resort until you get the # of days you want to be there?

Another vote for Vero! We have been twice and travel with four teenagers. They just loved it. In fact, on one of our SSR stays we 'beach-hopped' for a day to Vero. I wouldn't recommend that there are closer beaches to WDW, but our kids just wanted to see Vero that much !

The resort is wonderful. So nice to have both beach and pool amenities so close together. DVC friends of ours always spend a few days in an OVIR during each vacation. The two times we stayed were in beach cottages.

Remember, as DVC there are always more vacations to plan. I know how you feel about shortening time at a favourite resort. WE are headed to BWV for a week of F&W and I am already missing the SSR spa. We are 'resort switchers' and usually include a few days at SSR, this vacation doesn't have any.....

It is so hard to plan these trips because once you start staying at them ....you realize what you like at certain ones and YOU REALLY DO WANT IT ALL..at least I DO!!!!:rotfl: I know my kids will LOVE LOVE VERO....so I think I am pretty much sold on doing this for our next trip. Now to worry about AKV. :scared1: I think when we go in Nov. for our week....we will visit AKV and check out the resort and let that help determine next summer's trip. I mean....if everyone wants to stay there then they have to realize we will be moving quite a bit. I don't think any of us are willing to give up BCV completely next summer.
