Right now we are seasonal AP holders which are great....since the summer months I plan to be at the beach or pool....our renewal time is February when we had planned on simply renewing as well as this year we have to buy one for DD!!

Well, instead of Disney Dollars for xmas my father bought us the full year AP's....which means we can go any day and includes parking....parking is no big deal as we always stay on property.

I am not sure if we could even return them for seasonal passes and get the difference....I know the renewal rate isn't all that great but if we go to reg AP's then back to seasonal AP's we'd have to pay the full price again.

And then I was wondering if we should go ahead and upgrade to the full Premium AP's to include the water parks...which may be a nice change....:)

oh what to do?

for Florida Residents...it blocks out June, July and August as well as a week or so in December, New Year's and Spring Break!! All of those are times we don't care about going!

Okay, I know for sure you can't downgrade any Disney pass. You can, as you apparently know, apply the value of the pass to a more expensive one.

I'd say, if money's not a problem, go for the upgrade.

We always do seasonal (block out days are too busy to care about), but if you have the others I'd just keep them. We did have the full years once and occasionally it was nice to go in the evenings, did the 4th of July at epcot, which was crowded, but fun. We just went for fireworks. So did everyone else in the state, park was full by about 6:30. People were putting blankets done on the sidewalk. It was diffrent.

First of all, it doesn't matter what kind of AP you have (AP, PAP or SP), you will get the renewal price on your new one of any type regardless of which one is currently expiring. That means if you have a SP now and wanted to renew to a PAP, you will get the renewal price on the PAP. Also works the other way if you have an expiring PAP or AP and want to renew to a SP, you still get the renewal price on the SP.

As to your father's purchase (which I will assume was at FL resident non-renewal prices), the price difference after taxes between you renewing your SP and the new FL resident AP is about $143. You have several options but you cannot get a refund on the price difference.

You can hold the AP voucher for future use and pay to renew your SP now. You can renew your SP and purchase any additional ticket at the same time (a one day or a FL resident 3 day for example) and apply the value of the AP voucher towards it. You can go to Guest Relations and explain your situation (Father gifted wrong passes) to the CM and see what accommodation s/he can do for you.

And then I was wondering if we should go ahead and upgrade to the full Premium AP's to include the water parks...which may be a nice change....:)
Well, that's a decision only you can make based on your projected use of the additional admissions included. :)
