and frankly it was NOT worth it. i don't think any of the suites are worth the price on the 3-day (unless cost is not a factor) as you really aren't in the room but to sleep and change. on the 4-day, at least you have the day at sea to enjoy the veranda and the room a bit more.
now, the 7-day is well-worth the expense (and what an expense it is!). we spent more time in the room than we ever have, had breakfast in there three times (you can order a full, hot breakfast in the suites), took our time getting ready for our days, sat on the veranda enjoying our wine and reading several times, etc. plus there are the benefits of being in a suite: pre-booking of palos brunch(es)/dinner(s), high tea, wine tasting, excursions (of course, everyone can do this now) before you ever leave home. once on board, the concierge can do just about anything you need (e.g., we wanted to do the golden eagle catamaran on st. maarten...
dcl docs state a 5 yo minimum age limit and we have a 3 yo...another (exceedingly kind) DISer emailed me to say that younger kids can go on the catamaran, they just can't snorkle (okay by me!)...we got on ship, asked Miska (concierge) to check into it and the next day we were booked!). the amount of water, soda and fruit we received made up for some of the extra cost of the cat 1! plus they leave all sorts of little goodies...our boys (3 of them) each received $20 in credit for the arcade, we received a book on the making of the magic, our 3yo received a coloring book and crayons...plus other goodies during the week.
BUT...as the other disneykids said....it is hard to go back to a lower category once you are in a suite....ask my dh who just had me book our next cruise (in a cat 3 with request for upgrade to a 2 or 1 if any become available).
