were Space Mountain and Splash Mountain open? Thought I had read somewhere last week that they were both shut down one day. We leave on Friday :cool1:   and would like to know what to expect.

They were both open for us. I had heard that Space Mountain had been closed one day, too, but we had no problem. On Friday am, my dd and dh rode splash and said the sound and animation were down, really weird experience. Later in the afternoon we rode it again and it was running normally.

We returned last night and both were open all the times we went to MK =)

We were there last week. Splash Mountain was open every time we went by. Space Mountain, though, was sort of up and down. Two of the times we went through it on the Peoplemover (we ride the Peoplemover a lot, okay?) the lights were all on like they were working on it. It was, however, open during other times those same days.

We were there last week too, and everything was running as scheduled. Enjoy your trip!

We were at MK on Tues Oct 18. Space Mountain was closed for the majority of the day due to technical difficulties.

We had gotten a FP at 10.30-11.30 slot, and when we returned at 10.45am, they said it was closed due to technical difficulties and to return in an hour. We did, and it was still closed. We returned at 1pm, still closed. We tried again at 2pm, still closed.

It was fairly frustrating to keep walking back to Tomorrowland just for that ride, only to fiind it wasn't working.

We finally got on at 3.30pm. Definitely took something away from the thrill of it for me, a first-timer.

Yes, both open but on Splash mountain the music was off the entire first 3/4 of the ride and half of the animatronics did not work. Really a weird experience going through with no music...kind of creepy?
