Well Mitch, I have to say that I read your post before our little weekend getaway. I had purchased several Connections vouchers to use on this trip. One was the Vacation Lunch Kingdom which allowed for a three course lunch at many different places.
RFC was one location that is consistently recommended as a "good value" for the $30 you pay for the voucher.
I went ahead and tried the RFC at AK......you were right. Maybe we are just spoiled to finer dining places (California Grill, Jiko, Flying Fish, even Le Cellier), because we did not really care much for the quality of food.
Went for it all, pizza as appetizer, steak and stuffed lobster as entree, bananas foster for dessert. Money-wise, I guess you could say we got a good deal. However, the food was not very good. The bananas foster was actually rock hard ice-cream rolled in a very cold and dry (obviously this was simply pulled out of freezer) crepe, covered in whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate and caramel syrup. There was absolutely no sign of the banana liquer sauce they referred to.
Oh well, now we know....should have listened to you!!
