I don't understand the CVS deals & how to pay next to nothing for things can someone explain to me how to do it? & any other coupon advise on saving major money!

Say a product is on sale for 2/$3.00 and you have 2 coupons for $1.00 off one of said product. The sale price of the item is $1.50 and if you add the $1.00's off, you are paying .50 cents for each item.

Another scenario...I was at the grocery store last week and a box of feminine pads was on clearance for $1.75. I had a coupon for $1.00 off that product so I got the box for .75 cents.

Check the discontinued items box at your local store and keep an eye on your coupons to maximize savings. Now I wouldn't buy cold medicine or anything if it was being discontinued because of the expiration date, but pads and such, I have no problem with it. It's not like they go bad or anything :thumbsup2

I get the Sunday paper just for the coupons, and where my DH works, someone always brings in a Sunday paper, so he snags the coupons from that for me as well. That way I can double the amount of coupons I have for just such an occasion as the first example. My mom gives me the coupons from her paper that she doesn't want, so maybe you could ask around to people you know who get the paper if you could have any unwanted coupons.

Some stores won't let you use coupons on clearance items...I know Walmart wouldn't. It doesn't make a lot of sense but they that is the way it was.

Check out some of the coupon websites - like A Full Cup - they post the deals for different stores each week, including CVS and Walgreen's (and others like Target). I have about 20 bottles of body wash (LOL -maybe more) that I paid between $0 and probably $.50 for. These run $5.99 normally - I keep saying I'm going to quit buying that particular product since we have enough for a really long time (years!) but it's hard to pass up free. I also have enough razors to shave the legs of everyone in my neighborhood for probably a year!

It's not just clearance items, in my experience - in fact, the stores where I shop never seem to have the clearance items that they're supposed to when I go there. Many times when a new product comes on the market, there are big dollar off coupons for it and the stores will have it on sale as well, trying to get people to try a new product.

I follow the Free/Cheap threads each week at CVS (or Walgreen's, etc) on afullcup.com. Once you get going, it starts to make sense.

One tip, I found it too time consuming to cut and file all the coupons. Now I just file them by week and pull them out when a deal shows up on a coupon site. They tell you what week the matching coupon is from.

check out iheartcvs.com for some deal match up as well. I also follow hip2save.com She has a whole CVS guide including a video to watch that is quite helpful.
