To those parents with kids turning 3 on trips:

Do I have to buy park passes for DD halfway through the trip? And re meals, if she looks almost three, will they ask me for ID for her at character breakfasts? Not trying to sneak her in or anything, just want to know the rules and how Disney does things. Do I need to bring her passport with us to the parks or anything?

We celebrated my sons 3rd birthday at Disney and never paid for a thing with him. The way it was explained to me is that he is the age that he was when the trip began. So, no you don't have to buy tickets for him. You won't need any type of ID - they're not going to question you - and if they do, just tell them.

I wondered about the restaurants too. I told CRO when I was making the PS for Crystal Palace for his birthday breakfast, and she said there still wouldn't be a charge for him.

I think the only thing I paid for with him on that trip was his ticket to the Family Magic Tour. I'm not sure I had to, but I just said two adults and two children, and they charged me accordingly.

Enjoy that last freebie trip - it killed me having to buy a ticket for him after then after enjoying all the free trips for him.

Whichever age they are the day they start the trip is what you go on. So, if on day 1 of the trip your little one is 2 years old-- then his/her trip is "free" in that sense. If they turned 3 the day before your trip started-- then you go on the 3 years old prices.

I'm sure she will be fine, PLUS she'll get treated like a princess while she is there. Make sure you let everyone know she is celebrating a birthday!

Your're child willnot be penelized for having a birthday. Whatever age a child is when they start the vacation is what you are expected to adhere to. It is nice becasue they do this with Ap's as well, DD was 9 when she rece'd her last AP and turned 10 just before it expiered, we did not have to upgrade her at all.
