To the parks Is DLH a farther walk then PPH?

We just got from a stay at PPH and we are going back to LA at the end of Sept for a wedding. So I decided that we can't be in California and no go to DL. I was just looking at the website at the package prices and DLH is a few dollars less then PPH. Which is weird because I swear that when I was planing our last trip DLH was a few hundred dollars more then PPH. We had breakfast at Goofs on morning and the DLH seamed farther away but maybe that's because we had to walk from PPH first. Is DLH a longer walk? How do the 2 hotels compair?

If you can get DLH for less than PPH....DO IT!!

I would say the walk is about the same.

I think DLH is closer, and nicer. So, if it's cheaper too! Bonus!! Book it!

When we stayed at the PP, we walked across the street and walked through the Grand Californian. Done that way, I think it's a little closer than the Disneyland Hotel. That said, I'd always stay at the DLH rather than the PP, especially if it's less expensive.

Before booking, just do a quick check to see if package prices are cheaper for you than booking hotel and buying tickets separately. Just to make SURE.


I like using mapmyrun for Disney. I recently did it for the paths we took on our DLH trip, and I'd already done some for PPH. using the best guestimate/approximation for the path we took (going through DTD is tough b/c there's no such thing as a straight line in there)....

From Frontier Tower to the center of the esplanade via DTD: .55 mile.

From Frontier Tower, going out the back/side of it, along the sidewalk to the crosswalk and crossing over to the Grand, going through the Grand's path to DTD, and to the center of the esplanade... .55 mile.

DLH to the monorail (and I think I used the DTD Side of Adventure tower for this), .09 mile. BUT the monorail isn't totally helpful for Magic Morning unless you're wanting to ride Nemo for MM, IMO. And it's not always open. Going BACK to the DLH, however, assuming you're near the monorail and the line isn't awful, is lovely on the monorail.

PPH to the center of the esplanade following Disney's signs (which takes you out the back, past DLH, all the way through DTD), .63 mile.

PPH out the FRONT and through the Grand to the center of the esplanade, .45 mile.

Thanks for the mileage bumbershoot! I knew that PPH thru GCH felt shorter!! LOL... we are doing PPH again this trip, because for me the walk multiple times a day through DTD to DLH is exhausting. But, if I really could get DLH cheaper than PPH that would be a hard choice!!
