I found these really cool tins at the flea market today. There's actually two of them. But I can't find anything on the internet. I have no idea how old they are, but they're really nice shape. I picked them up for a quarter, just cause they were cool looking.

Any one like to fill me in on where these came from?

How cute!

According to the Crayola website: http://www.crayola.com/corporate/timeline.cfm?n_id=77 the company changed its name to Binny & Smith Inc in 1955, so your crayons wouldn't be any older than that. And in 1979 they introduced a new company logo, which looks more like the Crayola logo. Your crayons say New York on them, and the company moved from New York to Pennsylvania in 1976.

SO, I would say your crayons were made sometime between 1955 and 1976.

Great find!

I bet they color light years better than the lousy way things Crayola makes now. And what good shape they're in (relatively speaking).

It's missing the brown crayon from one tin and a couple colors are shorter in the other. I put the best ones in the one tin and the rest in the other. I found a big box a while back of crayola, which were probably from the 80's or 90's.

It's so much fun what you kind find there. It's like your entire childhood sitting in front of you. Toys, games, and all sorts of things.
