How many of you let the resturaunt know that you had just been married? I will be getting married at a chapel in kissimmee and the we will have dinner at the grand floridian. I didn't know if any of the resturaunts will do anything for you. We will have our 5 year old daughter with us so we are going to 1900 fare at GF. Any advice or experience with this. What did resturaunts do for you?

if it was just any ordinary restaurant, I probably wouldn't say anything (we didn't after our civil ceremony)

But you are talking about a DISNEY restaurant! DEFINITELY tell them when you make the reservation!

I would tell them. Especially at Disney. Your daughter will also enjoy it.

I would mention it to them. But I would also caution you not to get your hopes up. Chances are they will do something nice for you, but on the off chance that all you get is a congratulations, I wouldn't want you to end up disapointed.

I agree with HMGolden.

The day we got engaged, we ate dinner at Narcoossee's. The waiter overheard us on the phone with someone we had called earlier in the day to let them know the news. He brought out a bottle of champagne on the house. He asked where we were getting married- of course, we already knew the Wedding Pavilion. Turns out he had been married there 10 years ago (11 at this point). He also let us in on the fact that the couple behind us was celebrating being married for one week. I thought that was so cute!

So, you may get some special treatment, or you may not. I think it depends on the restaurant, the crowds, and the mood and disposition of your waiter.

so I called to make all of our reservations but I will be calling soon to confirm them. So do I metion it to the person who I will confirm with or do you metion it at the resturaunt? Thanks!

You can have it put on the ADR that it's your wedding/honeymoon also for the rest of the trip make sure you have the wedding buttons. They're trained to look for them so if they forget to put it on the ADR they'll still know as soon as you walk up. We got toooons of congratulations with the buttons, soooo fun.
