Hello,
I haven't been on here for awhile and last time it was the WDW boards. WE went in Feb of 06 and had a fabulous time.
I grew up going to Disneyland as I grew up in Laguna Beach.
I am thinking of going to So Cal to visit my family for spring Break.
We are going to do legoland one day because my son is obsessed with legos.
I than figured well we should do Disneyland too. Than my brain starting swirling that maybe we should stay at a Disney hotel for a couple of days.
My question is what do you think. Is it silly for me to stay at a hotel when my dad's house is only forty minutes away.
If we didn't stay at a hotel than I know we would only do Disney one day. I have never done DCA and feel that it would be too rushed to do both parks with three kids.
If you are still reading this than THank You:goodvibes
Thanks for any help

IF staying at a motel would be enough of a reason to go 2 days,it 'might' be worth it. $$ considering.

Well, I certainly think the parks warrant as many days as you can spend, probably at least 3 with 3 kiddos. Spring break brings high prices, and DLH will likely be around $300+ per night. But, of course there are many good neighbor hotels that are much more affordable and equally close. Good luck, and I hope that you will have a wonderful trip.

Vacations near "home" are always fun. We haven't done it in awhile, but we used to love going and staying in a Seattle hotel for a weekend, even though we live 30 minutes away.

So I would definitely say that finding a hotel to make a longer stay would be be excellent fun!

Though you could look into the non-Disney hotels, just to compare prices, to perhaps make your wallet feel better about staying at a hotel when you have a place to stay 40 minutes away. HoJo and Candy Cane Inn are big favorites here, for a start. :)

My parents live 20 minutes from Disneyland (I live 1 1/2 hours away) and we are staying in a hotel when we go next month. It is our only family vacation this year and staying at the hotel will add to the excitement!

I didn't see the ages of your children, so I would say staying at a hotel would be a good idea so you can take a quick break if anyone needs a nap, rest, etc.
:thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the replies.
My kids ages are 8 months, four and eight.
I forgot to mention that I am coming from Co and it would probably be nice to spend a couple of nights away from my dads. I love my family but it is always nice to not smother each other.:scared:
Thanks for all of the guidance. I just needed a little push in the right direction.:thumbsup2
