which CS is the best for the money in each park? thank you so much you ladies have given me some great ways to save and I am trying to put together the best places to eat for the money on each park for lunch and dinner all counter service please and thank you. :goodvibes

Go to allears.net and click on dining. This will give you the resorts and parks and menus from each restaurant. It will tell you counterservice or table service. This way you can look for food your family likes to eat.

Our family's favorite CS in Magic Kingdom is Pecos Bills followed by Cosmic Rays. Pecos Bills has nice hamburgers with a great toppings bar to add a bit more to the burger (sauteed onions, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.).

We have also enjoyed the Counterservice at Port Orleans Riverside resort--great choices and pasta bar (although I know that's not your resort.)

We love Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, too.

MK - Columbia Harbor House
Epcot - Tangierine Cafe
AK - Flame Tree
DHS - all of the counterservice restaurants are pretty bad

Columbia Harbor house in MK HUGE portions easy to share and yummy! In Epcot the if you are adventurous eaters the meals in Tangierne Cafe sells a Shawarma platter- for chicken it's about $11 and it's huge too! easy to share. I love the sides here. Oh and also in the MK Casey's hot dogs are reasonable *well disney reasonable.

The killers are drinks and kids meals. I shared often with my kids from my meal as opposed to buying a kids meal if it was something they liked. My 2 oldest kids actually shared meals often on the trip by choice because the meals were so big.

We always ordered small with the promise of "if you are still hungry after eating we can get more" and we never had to get more.

DHS: We found a place that has a half a chicken, ribs, baked beans and coleslaw. We could have easily split it. I cant remember the name, but it was a near an ice cream shop. I want to say on the strip headed to Tower of Terror.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Rays. Pecos Bill's has been disappointing each time. My favorite is Columbia Harbor House, but I think dollarwise, you get more at Cosmic Rays.

Epcot: ?? We usually eat Fish and Chips, QS Chinese, or Mexica

The DHS place this poster is talking about is Fairfax Fare - it's down near ROR and TOT left hand side of Sunset Blvd.

At MK our favorite is Columbia Harbor House. Love the food, good portions, comfortable restaurant to sit in.

Cosmic Rays is good too, but it makes me crazy to have to wait on different lines for different items.

Haven't done much counter service at other parks.

Values for money? Ok....

Any adult meal that has a rotisserie chicken will give you half a chicken which you can split with someone. I often do this with my 5 year old. I don't think it's anough to share between 2 adults but you could get one and an extra side. Flame Tree at AK has one, I think there is a place at MK, and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot has one.

Sunshine Seasons is nice if you are a soda drinker because you can refill your cups.

I often get CS kids meals for myself and substitute a soda for the juice box. I dont like a ton of soda but a little bit is nice plus a lot of the kid meals are a good size. Chicken drumsticks, pizza, and macaroni kids meals are great. Stay away from chicken nuggets...they are teeny tiny.

If going to DTD, eat at Earl of Sandwich. Hands down the best value for CS. Big sandwich for $6 and very yummy.

My biggest advice for value though is not to eat any TC OR CS. Just snack all day. Bakeries are fabulous! They usually have some form of a sandwich for around $5 or $6. Muffins and cupcakes are around $5 and they are massive. My 5 year old and I cannot finishe off 1 cupcake together. Egg rolls, jalepeno pretzels, pot stickers, corn dogs are all good for savory option and all under $5.

Disney has some really yummy snacks and I think it's much mroe fun to snack your way around the world than get a plain ole cheeseburger.

There is a thread over on the Restaurants board that you might find helpful. You can get to it by clicking on the sticky thread "Special Links on the Restaurant Board" - it's located near the top of the list. On the first post of that thread, there is a link to categorized food pictures (affectionately known as food porn:rotfl:). Someone has very kindly grouped all the photos according to the restaurants where they were taken. So if you want to see just what the offerings at, say, Pecos Bill's look like, you just click on the photo links for that restaurant. I've found this very helpful - especially in figuring out what the picky eaters in my family will probably like.

Oh thank you! I will have to check that out!

We don't normally do the meal plan - we plan to spend about $30-35 per meal for all 4 of us (2 adult/2 kids) - counter service. We don't usually do kids meals - but order an adult meal and have the kids share. We also bring our own water/flavor packets so we don't usually buy drinks.

Cosmic Rays (MK) - combo meals

Trails End at Fort Wilderness: Giddyap and Go: TO GO MENU ONLY - 10 pieces of our famous fried chicken, fries, cole slaw, and biscuits for 4. White meat only $24.99 - $22.99 - I think this is one of the best meal deals. There are picnic tables where you can eat this outside.

Trails End at Fort Wilderness: Pizza: TO GO MENU ONLY - 16" thin crust cheese pizza $13.99 or 16" thin crust pepperoni pizza $15.49 - $13.99

AK - FlameTree BBQ - really nice chicken and rib meals

AK - Pizzafari - we order 2 of these and I eat the salad while the family shares the pizza: Cheese Pizza with a side caesar salad $7.99 and an order of breadsticks $3.99

AK - Picnic in the Park - Tier One Meal for 3 $24.99 3 sandwiches, 1 side, 3 desserts, 3 bottles of water or Meal for 4 $32.99 4 sandwiches, 2 sides, 4 desserts, 4 bottles of water - never done this but it seems like a good deal
