To See Df Or Not To See That Is The Question!!!

Hi Sarah!

My Df and I are planning on seeing each other before the ceremony to maximize the photo opportunity and just because we want to be together asap. but that is us. If you don't feel comfortable and want that huge "AHA" moment when your Df sees you coming down the aisle then I'd wait.

You're not gonna like this... I got up at 4am, Patricia Lejeune arrived at 4:30am to do my hair and makeup, and I met DF in the lobby at 7am for pictures. Then we had an hour and a half inside Epcot for pix.

So did you have Roots do the photos at 7am, or were they Disney photographers for that?

Wonder if the Disney photographers can do the staged thing for you...hmmm...

We used the Roots for all our photography. But Disney will be happy to start shooting whenever you ask them too. I'm sure they've done many staged first looks - just be sure to tell your contact at Disney Photographic that's what you want! :thumbsup2

We have a tighter schedule than yours and still not seeing each other before :)
I guess we're a tradionalist... more than I thought we are going to be.

We do separate pics before and then do the together pics after the ceremony and after DP.

3-3:30 Grooms pics
3:30-4:15 Bride's pics
4:30-5 ceremony
5-6:15 Pics (we will miss our own pre-reception... oh well)
6:30-8:30 Dinner
8:30-10:30 DP
after DP we'll take additional night pictures around BW/BC area

df doesnt wantt o see me before the ceremony and I guess it doesnt matter too much if we miss the pre reception as long as i get good pics!!

I want to have pics at the bw area but i dont know if we can fit it in.

does any one know how long the ceremony is??

Our ceremony started at 2:30pm and our marriage was legal at 3:03 pm...when we walked out Richard told us we had one of the longest ceremonies he has ever heard. So figure less than half an hour

Rev. Knox’s wife said that usually between 15~20min.
Could be a little longer if you have additional ceremonies. But on average 15-20min.
But I give it 30min, if it’s less then I’ll have more picture time :)

Or if you’re not having dancing in your reception you can extend your pre-reception for a half hour.
So
2:30 – 3 ceremony
3:30 – 5 Pre-reception
5 – 7:30 Dinner

That’ll give you an additional half hour for photos.
If your dinner is buffet my planner said that 2hrs is plenty for buffet without dancing and garter tosses etc.
If you are planning on additional activities in your reception then you might want to ask your planner if 2.5hr is good :)

We are definitely seeing each other before the ceremony - we are going to walk down to Sea Breeze Point together with my parents. I'm going to ask Randy to capture the 'first seeing each other' moment along with my Dad's too because I just know what his reaction will be and I want it on photo.

We are planning a 1000 ceremony with the limo picking up at 1130 to give us plenty of time for photos, and then onto the GF for photos and lunch at 1300 at GF Cafe (or Kona at the Poly) and then onto POR for more photos. The photos are the most important thing for us so we built in a lot of time (and money lol) for them.

We debated this issue a lot too. Finally DF decided that we should see each other before the ceremony. We'll have the "first look" and then time for our pictures. I just think that it will make the rest of the day run more smoothly. The most important pictures to me our the ones of DF and I so I dont want to be rushed at all. We'll still have time after the ceremony for pictures too but I will feel so much less stressed knowing that we already had a lot of good quality alone time for pictures :)

Nope..getting ready in a friends cabin near the back deck

Original weddin..we rode together in the car to the courthouse!!

If all goes as planned, we will be picked up at my hotel for our MK portrait session at 5:30 a.m., so I am hoping that DH will drive from BCV to GF and the photographer will meet him in the lobby and I will join them for some "first look" pix before we leave GF for the Magic Kingdom.

I am still figuring out logistics of who will help me get ready that morning, and hopefully take pix for me of all of that with my camera. Randy is doing all photography from about 8:00 a.m. (after the Disney photographer brings us back to the Grand), IIRC, so we'll also have some "first look" pix with our kids. That will be so much fun!

We are going the traditional route... not seeing eachother. I really dont want to... he will make a huge fuss about how great I look (not saying I will look great, its just the kind of person he is) and I would rather have him see me for the first time in my wedding gown coming out of the landau coach probably close to crying... lol
