To ring, or not to ring, the big bell?

When you all are in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom, do you ring the Liberty Bell replica there or no?

I always do. I just try to tap the edge with the mallot ever so softly and...
"BBBAAAANNNGGGGG!!!!!"

Lol, it's almost a tradition for me. Am I the only one?

In all of our trips to the MK over the years we have never done this. Never thought you could actually. I will have to do this on our next trip in Sept. It always happens. Just went I think there is nothing new that I could learn about Disney I do.

I was just looking at our photos from our October trip last night. We have a picture of DS in front of the bell and there is a fence around it! How do you all ring it? Do you lean over the fence? Or is the fence new? I kind of think if it is fenced that perhaps you are not supposed to ring it.

There's always been a little white fence around it. But it doesn't really impair your mallot grabbing abilities.

I never have either because I assumed it was not something they allowed. I always wanted to -- partially because there WAS a fence around it and I thought it WASN'T allowed. So now I may have to try this....

I'm another one who got reprimanded for doing so...my nephews and niece always got such a kick out of ringing the bell until the big mean CM followed me half-way through Frontierland to chastise me!!!
