We are debating whether to use our own stroller or rent one in the parks.......

Any comments on what is better????

We are driving to Disney so bringing a stroller is not a problem. We will be there first week of Feb.

Is it worth the hassle of strollers vs. Disney transportation to use your own.
How easy is it to rent them?
Do the strollers recline?

I've heard they are $10 a day or $8 a day for length of stay.

Thanks

It depends on how old your child is and can they walk for long distances. If you use Disney transportation you will have long walks from the buses/boats/monorails to the entrance to the parks and to your resort rooms.

I prefer to bring our own stroller for that reason. After we leave the park my son is too tired to walk and we are too tired to carry him to the bus. It is fairly easy to get a stroller on and off the bus. You have to fold it up and carry it on. If the bus is really crowded it can be a little tricky depending on how big your stroller is. I have an umbrella stroller with a reclining seat that folds up tight. I still had the great big stroller but bought the umbrella just for our Disney trips. The rental strollers don't have reclining seats. I have rented strollers at Disney when I forgot to bring ours with us. Renting them is fairly easy unless the parks are mobbed and then there is a line. They are nice, easy to manuver, sturdy and my kids love them. The main reason I don't rent them is so we have something to use outside the park.

I really think the rentals are for desperation. If your child is young enough that you know you will need a stroller, then bring your own. You want one that reclines, in case your little one zonks out. You want one your comfortable pushing around, especially in tight places. You want one with cup holders and a basket. The rentals dont have any of these things.

Bring one if you are driving. My dd is 4 and I thought I could do it by only renting one on the days when we were at Epcot. Wrong! She needed one more than I thought and it cost me. They do sell really nice umbrella strollers for $40, which still would have been cheaper for me, but like a dummy, I just finally did a length of stay rental.

They are not that bad on the bus. Just make sure you have it folded up and ready to go when the bus comes.

Hi!

Definitely bring a stroller. It gets pretty costly if you rent a stroller at the parks. I have three DS's 9, 7 & 4 and they all took a chance on the stroller. They just get pooped after a couple of hours of walking. Have fun!

Thanks. I appreciate all the tips and will plan on taking our stroller.
