I know this question is posed below, but my situation is a little different. I have twin 4 year olds, will be 5 in October. We are going to Disney for their birthday, so I know the strollers I have are getting too small for them, would you rent or look at buying another stroller? We also have a 2 year old, and he will defintely go in the stroller that we bring for him. But I really don't know what to do about the older kids.

We are going in April with 3 kids (4,5,6 ). After a long day Disney gets hard for all 3 of them. It makes for a much better family experience if they all have the option of riding.

Magic kingdom just got new strollers and they are small. We bought a double Jeep all weather umbrella stroller and it works great. It is very light and easy to push and carry on the bus but it is a good size for this age child. All 3 of them are fine in it.

I would check into it. It is also a great price. I bought it on the internet a few weeks ago and it was $65.99 new.

My kids are 3 and 5, they have outgrown the strollers we have and we rarely need a stroller at home. I rented a double stroller from orlandostrollerrentals.com for our upcoming trip. They will deliver it to our resort before we arrive and pick it up after we leave.

You will definately want one for them.

My niece was almost 5 on our trip in September. She spent quite a bit of time in it. I ended up purchasing a Peg P3 from www.albeebaby.com. It worked great. My thought was I didn't want to waste money on using a stroller when I could have one. It did cost a bit more than renting from Disney and I had it at the resort as well. I'm going to keep it, but I could've sold it and made all or most of my money back, as I live in Canada and the prices up here for that stroller are crazy.

I have heard good things about the rental place off-site.

I guess you will just have to decide if you want to buy or rent.

RENT! RENT! RENT! My kids are 4 and 7 and they both hopped in the double stroller. We rented one almost every day we were there. My first thought was "Gosh this is expensive" but it was such a load off when they were tired. We went in June and it was sooooooo hot. They were glad to have the shade above them. Just my experience.

RENT! RENT! RENT!

NO NO NO. :rotfl: ...renting is expensive...your best bet is to head over to the budget boards...they do stroller SWAPS !!! these are the BIG joggers that will easily fit 2 ds of 5 yrs old. its an easy process and really much cheaper than renting
good luck

We always took our jogging stroller right up until ds was 7! Even his older brothers hopped on. It was best to and from the parks too and folded up quickly.
Just have your bags easy to grab on and off trollies and monorail for everyone's sakes!
Even held all our sweaters, bottles etc while we were on rides. We even left the old video camera (well hidden) on the bottom.

Make sure you have your name sewn, written and plastered all over the stroller. We never worried about someone taking it, but it could be intentional or by mistake (HUGE thread about this, very interesting).

But well labelled strollers are awesome. Ours was distinctive anyway.

If you go with rentals, they are fine too. I don't think you can go wrong either way but we LOVED taking ours.

Bring your own, don't rent. I would bet that barely 5 yo will still be tired at the end of the day and will want to sit/will not want to walk from the park to the transportation (bus/monorail/car/boat) or from the transportation to your resort room. And you won't end up carrying both of them!

Have you checked out the sizes of the new MK strollers. They are SO SMALL. I would bet that a 4 and 7 year old would not fit in the new double strollers.

We were always renters but with kids 4,5,6 years old and the smaller stollers we have to bring our own. Also the new price increase $31 a day is so expensive. We bought a nice double unbrella they can fit in for the price of 2 days of rental (new).

A 7 day trip would cost $217.00 for a rental eveyday - that is nuts.

The budget board ones are nice if you have a car but if you are taking the disney busses those joggers are HUGE. It is a pain for you and all the other passangers on the busses. It is better to take a smaller umbrella type stroller if you are using the busses.

My daughter has lazy leggs syndrome - we brought an antique twins stroller we bought off ebay for 50.00 with us and it worked out terrific! They dont make them like this anymore! WHip

We have always rented from A Baby's Best Friend, even before Disney's massive price hikes last year.

ABBF has a great selection of strollers, and the double jogger is the one wwe always get. It's only $95 for the entire week, and is at our resort when we get there. A small price to pay for sanity in the big $$$ picture of the vacation. ANd they are always wonderfully CLEAN.

You can see the strollers on their website, abbf.com

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Whew, the new strollers are small and $$$!!!

My neices and nephews werent that comfortable in them for sleeping at all...they were 2, 4, 6. we actually brought and umbrella stroller and rented a single for the 4 year old figuring when the 6 year old pooped out at night, we could carry the 2 year old.....welll......the new strollers are pretty upright, and hard as a rock, no scootching room like the old big ones! So when the 2 and 4 year olds needed a little nap, they sat in the umbrella stroller, it was actually more comfortable for them.

Also, if they do fall asleep in a rental stroller, guess what? You either have to wake them up or carry them to the car or bus!!! Holding the 49lb 4 year old was really HARD!!!!! he was so tired, I was able to wake him up at least to walk from the ferry boat stop onto the boat and then off the boat and into the line for the tram where he then crashed and I had to pick him up...then there was the walk from the ferry stop to the end of the row where our car was parked (the 6 year old got the umbrella stroller for that hike since she was the heaviest)......it was really difficult at 10 at night with everyone being so tired!!!!

Have FUN!!!!!

We own the Jeep single umbrella and it's my favorite umbrella by far and trust me, I've had a LOT of strollers. I have a slight obsession.

I just bought a Baby Jogger single on Craig's List for almost what it was going to cost to rent at orlandostrollerrentals.com - $110 and practically brand new!!

My DH wanted to rent but see, I'd like the damn stroller so much that I'd then want to buy it. I know how I am. I was loving the Baby Jogger city lite double the above site offers though.

But I don't think we'll need a double every single day so we are bringing my new BJ stroller and our Jeep umbrella in case my 5 yo needs to ride for a while. I'll put him the jogger and my 2 year old in the umbrella.

Just throwing the other rental site out there www.orlandostrollerrentals.com I agree w/ a pp about the double joggers on the budget board swap they can be a pain on the bus not for the people already piled on the bus but for the sucker who has to carry and hold that thing on the bus but if it is the best cheapest option for you that you should take it up. I did see that another budget boarder is trying to start up a new double stroller swap w/ an umbrella stroller their list included the baby planet unity and the graco ipo while I don't recommend the later of the two they would be an additional option if available during your dates. I also mentioned to them a mac twin stroller so I don't know what it is that they will be getting. You may want to check craigslist and see whats available in your area and if you find something you are pleased w/ you can always resell what ever you get when you get home. Personnally I would go w/ one of the outside rental companies before renting from disney. have a great trip.
