We are going to be at DW from 8/12-18. The thing is we don't want to tie ourselves to an agenda (well except for our CRT on 8/14!).

I'd like to do a Fantasmic dinner but not sure which night. Ditto for Liberty Tree Tav. And maybe some WaterMice at the Contemporary.

So is it better to make multiple ressies now, but break them? (Can you make "overlapping" ressies or say a 5pm ressie at MGM and a 6pm at MK?) Or should we wait til we get there and try our luck at a PS? Or should we maybe try to walk up and wait? There are just 3 of us.

Thanks.

I would make them, even if they're overlapping, and cancel later when you decide where you want to be. It's always easier to KNOW that you can be seated quickly when everyone gets grumpy and hungry than waiting an hour or more becasue you dont have one - or worse yet, not being able to eat there at all and being stuck with counter.

We had multiple ones this past time becasue we couldn't decide and weren't sure how quickly we would get through which park. Once we figured out which we would be going to, we just canceled.

Yes - they can overlap.

I am at the opposite end of the spectrum from Aimeedyan. Leaving in 10 days and have made no PS ressies. Never do except for Fantasmic and a restaurant I am sure will fit into the itinerary. I have been pretty lucky 'winging it' and see no reason to change. If you know when to go (early...) you can usually be seated immediately at most any restaurant in my experience. I did have to reserve the Chef's Table one year at V&A- but I even got that the week before we left :) I guess it comes down to how flexible you want to be and how important food is to you while you are there. A couple of nice dinners are nice while there, but I can eat at a nice restaurant any day of the year. It is simply not the focus for me. Just another point of view for what it's worth :)

Blessings.

They require a deposit and 48 hr cancelation notice on Fantasmic dinners.

Would like to do another Character meal though. What would be best for a 7yr old girl:

Breakfastasaurus

Liberty Tree Tav for dinner

Ohana for dinner

We hardly ever make PS's either. Of course, it's just the two of us. We tend to eat at off times anyway and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes when just walking in.

I have made PS's for Bistro de Paris.

I like to sit down and plan where I'm going to go each day, and make some PS's according to that. The crowds do thin out some the second half of August, which should help if you don't make any PS's.

I make a PS for each day. That way I know I have someplace cool to sit and eat in. If I find I'm not going to be able to get there or my plans change, I just cancel them. I just like to play it safe. Besides, I love the planning of it all!!

I'd rather make a PS and find out it wasn't needed than not make one and find out I needed it.

That's a tough one because they're all so different.

Breakfastasauras is in AK with Donald, Mickey, Pluto and Goofy. I'd go to that if I were going to AK for the day, she'd probably enjoy that. Lots of food selections and nice character interaction.

LTT-I honestly can't answer since we've never been.

O'Hana is a fun atmosphere but there are no characters at dinner, well no "disney" characters per se, there are a few "people Polynesian characters" as in silly people who lead coconut races and hoola hoop contests which would be pretty fun for a 7 year old if she likes that stuff. It's nice because you can sit and relax while she has fun.

But, I would definitely vote for making the PS. I had to reschedule our trip from now to next Saturday and I'm having a heck of a time trying to get into places like, Chef Mickeys or any of the Princess meals which I had for our original trip.

Now it's kind of a bummer because I'll have to depend on a last minute cancel which will be hard to come by. Or I can try to walk up and I may be told to wait an hr or 2, sorry won't be doing that so I made other alternatives. Better to have them then not to..you can always cancel:D
