To Peel or Not to Peel - MagicBand

It is me (DH), my wife and DD who is 4. My wife and daughter could peel theirs off but they don't because I end up using their magic bands for some fastpasses since I go on a lot more rides than they do.

if it would be more convenient to have bands that fit them over the course of the trip, you could just carry the band or put it on a belt loop. You don't have to wear it.

TIL you could peel your Magic Band.

Pulled out my box from when they were still in testing, and lo and behold there is an entire explanation under the cover of the box explaining this. I guess I never thought to look at the underside of the box cover. Neat.

Glad I saw this....We got ours a few weeks ago, but I just put them aside!! Didn't even have the kids try them on or anything. Guess I'll take a look at them tonight...Thanks!

I always peel mine, I have a tiny wrist and couldn't stand have it overlap with the gray part on. I'm also super sensitive to having rough edges touch my skin, I have to cut all my labels out of my clothes because they bother me. I've had no problems with rough edges when I peel them. I'm too lazy to cut them and file them. My honey loves to use his lighter on strings that are hanging (evidently it's a military thing) so I have an extra ugly yellow band so I might have him try the cutting and burning thing.

I don't like the look of the solid color, so I just chop off the gray part and leave 2 holes.

I always peel mine! I have extremely tiny wrists and it's extremely uncomfortable wearing it unpeeled. The remaining edge has never been sharp or bothered me. You could always try it with the gray part and then if it doesn't feel comfortable, peel it off there. Instead of it swinging around my arm all day it fits securely but it's never tight or uncomfortable.

We haven't decided- but I am thinking of keeping them like they came for all of us (down to the 2 y/o) I just don't want to regret peeling them. But- after actually using them, we may decide midway through that we want to peel them off. 5 of the 6 of ours could easily be peeled (minus DH)

I peeled mine. I have tiny wrists (4.5ish inches around) and I really didn't like how it fit unpeeled. I peeled DD's too. Unpeeled I could practically wrap it around her wrist twice.

I peeled DD's and DS's - which they liked much better after trying it the other way first. Apparently the nail file I brought with us was not up to the task, because filing really didn't help the sides at all.
I debated peeling my own band, since I have tiny, child size wrists, but decided to leave it intact, and did not have any problems with it whatsoever. In fact, I usually hate wearing anything on my wrist, so I was surprised that the band didn't bother me!!
