Need help with the BUDGet...Palo on the Disney Cruise is going up to 20.00 PER PERSON for both Brunch and dinner......We did not last time do either. This time we are trying to decide. BRUNCH would be more in line with our food taste but is the food worth ANother $40.00 when we get a free Breakfast every day ????:confused3

But you won't get a breakfast like this. I love it. In fact I would give up dinner there before I would give up brunch, like you it is more in line with my food taste. Not everyone does like this type of food, but it is like heaven on the seas to me.

Brunch is awesome, and so is dinner. I have done both on 2 cruises. And as a side note...if an extra 40.00 is not in your budget for a cruise.... ummm...:confused3

We also always left a nice size tip for our Palo servers. Just sayin.....

You might want to post this question on the Cruise board because there may be more response. I spend a lot of time over there pirate:

In answer to your question...we didn't do Palo brunch or dinner on our first three cruises. We finally did the brunch on our fourth and LOVED it! The answer to your question is really more of a personal/budget answer. Would I be okay taking a cruise without Palo? Absolutely. Did I completely love those big ol' shrimp that were the size of my hand? (Okay, they weren't quite that big but really huge) Yes, I loved Palo. We always have a small breakfast and then eat Palo around 11:00-11:30 so it's our lunch. It works for us because they have a LOT of items that are not so breakfast-ish.

If you can work it into your budget it's definately worth doing at least once

I'd probably do dinner over Brunch, but I LOVED them both...ate there 3x in 2 days!!!!(it was $10pp then--a STEAL)
Seriously, one of the best meals i have had anywhere--maybe THE best.

I would say it was worth it. It was one of the highlights of our cruise. I like the Brunch better than dinner personally, but I love brunch food. There is lots of dinner type food too. We ate soooo much. I think it's quite a bargain. We were in Galveston earlier this summer and did a brunch at our hotel (Hotel Galvez). I think it ended up being $90 or something about there for the two of us including tip. NOT EVEN CLOSE to how good Palo is.

I would say brunch and dinner are worth it. IF you like eating. you're paying for the experience!

dessert alone is WORTH WORTH WORTH IT!

I personally enjoy dinner more, but if the brunch appeals to you, please take advantage of the made-to-order entrees and pizzas.

Spend the $40!

(And eat the soufle for me!)

Both meals are well worth it. Not much to pay when you get the service and experience of Palo.

thanks for all the replies...Its not even so much as the 40.00 BUT if we go, then dislike it or go away hungry., we are Very Simple people...and I mean simple. lol.....I like pizzas and Burgers.... breakfast i like waffles and pancakes etc....So for food like that I wondered if PALO was the right fit..But i feel like we *have* to try it this time since everyone RAVES over it...... Anyone know what is on the Menu for Brunch? Is it a Buffet or Made to order? THANKS

ITA. I much prefer brunch over dinner and I'd skip high tea all together.

Both. There is a cold buffet with breads, rolls, shrimp. crab legs, desserts and Im sure I am forgetting something. Then they have flatbread pizza to order and many egg dishes and again I'm sure I am forgetting something. It is great food and a great way to enjoy a sea day.

DO IT. In the big scheme of cruise add on activities it is a bargain.

Also highly recommend Alone Time at the Vista Spa. Not budget, but fabulous and best money I spent on the ship!

I wouldn't. But I have a hard time with the fact that food is inclued on your cruise, yet they offer options to pay for. I am just cheap that way. So I will most likely never go to Palo or any other restuarant like that on any other cruiseline. I would rather use that money on spending for treasures to take home. But that is just me.

We did dinner and brunch on our recent cruise. Brunch was AMAZING. I didn't even order a hot entree because the cold food was so great. I couldn't get enough of the crab.

If your budget can handle it, I would definitely do the brunch.

DH is more of a bar food guy.
AFter our brunch at PALO, he insisted we have dinner there & that I take all the wives of the couples we were traveling w/ to brunch. (they RAVED)
Brunch is more predictable, yet not. Dinner was like 7 courses, somewhat Italian themed, nothing bizarre.
I was STUFFED by the time dessert came. I am NOT a dessert person, and really not a chocolate person. But our waiter acted insulted when I said I would pass--"I already took the liberty of ordering the souffle for you". I had vanilla sauce to cut the chocolate--OMG, I could have eaten TEN of those--RIGHT THERE. AMAZING!
