We are going on the Disney Fantasy in November. Decided we wanted to see the new fantasyland so added one day of MK onto our trip. Planned on only going to MK(have leftover nonexpiring tickets from several years ago) Turns out it is probably going to the the last MNSSHP night..... so now trying to decide if we should do MNSSHP. We can't get picked up for the cruise until 945am as they do not allow towncars to arrive before 11am, so we could sleep in on Saturday morning. We have done MVMCP twice in the past. So what would you do??? MNSSHP or not ??

I've heard from nearly everyone that MNSSHP is more fun than MVMCP (but I haven't been to both). For us, we would never miss it if we were in the area at that time - we actually budget in two party nights on our vacations because we love it so much. And if you do decide to do that, instead of buying an MK ticket for the day, you could go to a different park in the morning and get into MK with your MNSSHP ticket at 4:00 - it's like having a park hopper without paying for it.

That is what I have been kind of thinking, maybe hit Epcot at rope drop and stay till say 1-2pm, rest a bit and head to MK say 530pm. Had convinced my hubby that this extra day didnt' really cost us much since we had the nonexpiring tickets... now I am going to spend $180 on tickets, haha... We have always gone mid November so have never done any Halloween stuff before.

We LOVE MNSSHP!! It is a must do. we went last year and DD loved it, DH loved it even more. The parade is awesome and so are the villains!

I love MNSSHP, but I'd skip it under those circumstances. I need my sleep.

We absolutely loved the MNNSHP! The fireworks and parade were fabulous! I hears they cut back on some of the trick or treat stations since we last did it in '09, but we loved it and would absolutely do it again! When we were there, you could also only buy the MNSSHP party merchandise during the party so we got some cool shirts and trick or treat bags. It's 100% worth the money!

So they give you a treat bag?? I don't need to bring one. Trying to pack as light for the cruise.

We went to MNSSHP and I thought it was the most fun I have ever had at WDW. I have also done the MVMCP and it just doesn't compare to MNSSHP. You should definitely do it! One thing which I really loved is the special characters that come out to meet that you can't meet on an ordinary day. Also, we had our pictures taken by the Haunted Mansion by Photopass and they insert pictures of the ghosts into your pictures.

I say MNSSHP kicks MVMCP in the rear! If you like seeing special fireworks, a special parade (the best parade I've seen at WDW, in my opinion) and meeting rare characters, they absolutely do it. The atmosphere is fantastic and the party alone makes me prefer fall at Disney to the winter holidays. Plus, tons of candy! Treat bags are included with your ticket and the only way you can leave without them full is if you don't try :)

MNSSHP is our favorite party of all time. The parade and fireworks alone are better than Christmas (and we LOVE MVMCP), the Villians are out for pics as well as other rare characters, trick or treating is a blast and for both small children and grown children, the special photos available at HM are also awesome. Word of advice...if you're planning on attending 10/31 or 11/2, you NEED to purchase your tickets very early. These parties do tend to sell out. IMHO...very well worth the $$!!

They give you a small plastic one. They sell additional treat bags there.

They give you plastic bags after you get there. They also give you a map that has all the Treat spots where they are easy to locate. It's really so much fun! You would think it would be exhausting, and we are tired when we get back, but my kids can make it until midnight with no problem.

We have been to the Halloween party and Christmas party. The Halloween party was our favorite! The firework show was excellent!!! I have the cd with music from the MNSSHP in my car and we listen to it all the time.

I say do it! We've done both MVMCP and MNSSHP and the Halloween Party is so much better! I would do the Christmas Party again but maybe in a few years. If I had the opportunity to go to MNSSHP I would do it in a heartbeat!

I have mixed feelings about MNSSHP.

The first time I went was in 2005. It was great! We hit every treat station and rode every ride that was open at the time, got great seats for one of the parades and saw the fireworks. The candy they gave out was name brand stuff.

Last year, the party was more crowded than MK during the day! We managed to ride five rides, tops, and maybe three treat stations. We had the longer lines of all week. The candy was all off-brand stuff.

After the fact, I read that there were a few nights that Disney did not limit the number of tickets sold for the party. I strongly suspect we were there on one of those nights.

I would do it if I were you - just the parade is practically worth the price of admission.

Absolutely would do it. It's one of my top WDW memories with my family.

I loved the Halloween Party - it was so fun seeing people in costumes, and the parade is amazing. AMAZING! My friend and I are trying to figure out a time to go back next year, and whenever we pitch non-fall times, we just keep coming back to the Halloween Party.

Thanks everyone. I have decided to go for it. I have been going to WDW for 9 years now and never hit Sept/Oct so think I won't pass up this opportunity. Thanks for the replies!!!

We have done both and MNNSHP is the best. We will be going for our 3rd time in October, so that tells you how much we love it. Awesome fun for everybody!
