On our trip during Thanksgiving we took the tour and bought into OKW (Disney had bought back some points) we were offered up to 341 points at a significant savings if we purchased while on vacation with a use yr of Mar (this also meant we got 2010 points which because we just bought they let us bank and then in Mar we will get our 2011 points) versus $120 per pt at BLT or AKL (I think) or $130 per point if we brought the info home and waited after Dec 1st. Needless to say we bought 175 points at OKW (sight unseen except for Birnham's) which actually gave us more than what we needed for now. Lol
We go every yr to WDW so it just made sense to buy DVC.

We had been researching the boards and everything we could find to make this decision for a yr or more and knew we were getting a good deal. We had hoped to be able to pay cash when the time came. This deal was too good to pass up so we financed with Disney and intend on paying it off in 2-3 yrs with income tax returns and ot money. Our credit was good, not excellent but with have no credit card debt, but have 2 car loans and mortgage. We didn't think there would be any problems. We came home all excited to be DVC members couldn't wait to log on to the DVC member website and look around but still unsure. Today, it's official!!!!! The DVC member website shows our loan information and I am so happy and excited.

I can't wait to start planning our first DVC stay.

Congrats!

A couple of questions:
- Can you confirm that DVC offered OKW or you asked and they said it was available?
- Are you willing to share the DVC selling price?

yes DVC offered OKW when we stated we just didn't like BLT and the guide said I think we have a few OKW that we just purchased back but let me ck. She stepped out and came back and said we have 341 so then we had to decide how many we wanted. We decided on 175.

$90 per point

Congrats! If you bought direct, you should be in the system already and ready to book. I bought on Sunday 7:30 pm Hawaii time was the closing. And when I woke up and called at 9:00 am Hawaii time (2:00pm EST) was ready to book and reserved the units we needed for opening week at Aulani. Now that is what I call fast and efficient. BTW this was for a new membership.

Congratulations and welcome home. We bought at OKW as soon as we saw it and its been great.

Congrats and welcome home! Can I ask why you decided to buy direct when you can buy okw resale for $45 per point? Just curious. Thanks.

We wanted the purchase to go smoothly and were unsure about dealing with the resale. Not that we thought we would get ripped off but after reading some horror stories I didn't want that kind of hassle with it being our first purchase

Could be a little sentimental and just wanted to deal with Disney.

Enjoy! In the future, for add-ons, you may want to use a reputable resale company. We paid $55 pp for 200 Ssr points using jaki with no problems!

thanks now that I see how it works we may do just that
