To Keep Organized...

The best tip for a Disney cruise I ever got was to bring a over the door shoe holder for not only shoes but for toiletries and all your little "things" to keep organized. Has anyone ever done this for a hotel room? I would love to bring it, (staying at the Poly) but not sure where I could hang it. Any suggestions? Thank you! :)

I did that on our last trip and I definitely will do it again. I hung it over the closet rod. It worked perfect. I also took hand soap (pump kind) to place by the sink. I do not like the bars for washing hands. And I took a pop up hamper. It made it so easy to go to the laundry room.

I read that tip here, and bought one specifically for the trip (Anna's Linens had them on sale - after we are back from the trip I'm going to use it in the kid's bedroom, I bought the matching sweater shelf/hanging things with 5 slots and use it to put their week's worth of school uniforms in - it makes getting dressed in the mornings MUCH easier).

But, back on track....

I bought the shoe holder specifically for Disney (DH thinks I'm nuts) but after I read it here, it made TOTAL sense!! I travel a LOT for work, by myself. Keeping tiny hotel bathrooms neat and organized with my stuff when I'm by myself is a challenge. Add in toothbrushes/toothpaste (3 tubes between 3 of us - my kids each have their own "flavor" preference  ), lotions (youngest son has bad eczyma and has a nice variety of creams and lotions), and everything else....an organizational nightmare.

I am sure that it will be a lifesaver!!!

My DH thought I was nuts too when I brought along a shoe holder, but he really liked being able to see what he needed without having to always ask me where anything was.

(When my husband comes home I am going to make him commit to a date so I can start a countdown)

:thumbsup2 great disney minds think alike! I do all of these

I am going to bring a few "Command" hooks in case the one I got doesn't fit over the door or somewhere convenient. Those things hold a lot of weight and then remove w/o any damage. Just thought I'd share

BINGO! Thanks for the great idea. I want to bring this, just didn't know a convenient place to put it. This might just work! :)

Oh I do those things. I also bring a 12 x 12 memoribilia box to hold all the stuff I collect for scrapbooking. When I get in from the park, in it goes. Brand new scrapbooking stuff, in it goes. lol. That way nothing get's lost or damaged.
I pack our snacks in a box with a lid that can go on the shelf.
I pack magnets so I can hang our schedule on the door.

ETA: I hate to do this, but there are lots of great ones on this thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1082988
